12-11-2024I suffer from seasonal allergies - mild symptoms during spring and severe symptoms during fall. Here is a practical study/experiment which I did on myself. Before consuming Quercetin+Bromelain 1. Sneezing - Middle of the night (2 AM), early morning as soon as out of bed & anytime of the day 2. Stuffed/runny nose - most of the day 3. Itchy eyes - most of the day 4. Breathing - shallow breathing due to blocked nostrils After consuming Quercetin+Bromelain - 2 Vcaps before breakfast, 2 Vcpas before dinner. Day 1 - Friday: 1. Sneezing - Middle of the night (2 AM), early morning as soon as out of bed & anytime of the day 2. Stuffed/runny nose - most of the day 3. Itchy eyes - most of the day 4. Breathing - shallow breathing due to blocked nostrils Day 2 - Saturday: 1. Sneezing - Middle of the night (3 AM), early morning as soon as out of bed & anytime of the day 2. Stuffed/runny nose - most of the day, but LOT better than yesterday 3. Itchy eyes - most of the day 4. Breathing - better than yesterday Day 3 - Sunday: 1. Sneezing - Middle of the night (2 AM), early morning as soon as out of bed & anytime of the day 2. Stuffed/runny nose - most of the day 3. Itchy eyes - most of the day 4. Breathing - able to take deep breath Day 4 - Monday: 1. Sneezing - No sneezing middle of the night, but had a couple of bouts early morning as soon as out of bed & anytime of the day 2. Stuffed/runny nose - mostly clear, no stuffiness, sometimes runny but not for long 3. Itchy eyes - most of the day 4. Breathing - able to take deep breath Day 5 - Tuesday: 1. Sneezing - No sneezing middle of the night, but lots of thin watery mucous discharge, started around 2 AM, continued for most of the day. 2. Stuffed/runny nose - Stuffed, runny most of the times 3. Itchy eyes - most of the day 4. Breathing - shallow breathing due to blocked nostrils Day 6 - Wednesday: 1. Sneezing - Early in the morning (4 AM), and another bout of sneezing as soon as out of bed & anytime of the day 2. Stuffed/runny nose - Stuffed, runny most of the times 3. Itchy eyes - most of the day 4. Breathing - shallow breathing due to blocked nostrils 5. Itchy throat Day 7 - Thursday: 1. Sneezing - No sneezing middle of the night, but had a couple of bouts early morning as soon as out of bed. Not many during day time. 2. Stuffed/runny nose - mostly clear, no stuffiness, sometimes runny but not for long 3. Itchy eyes - not much, but still little itchy 4. Breathing - improved from yesterday, not deep enough 5. Itchy throat - mild. good improvement from yesterday As you can see from the above, my conclusion is that this product did not work for me - atleast not after continuous use of 7 days. I will keep monitoring for another week and I may update the review later as well. UPDATE: Downgrading to 1 star since there are no signs of alleviation even after using it for 1 month.

> 3 dayI have been plagued by almost constant earaches for at least 10 years. Most of the time I wouldnt even bother going to the doctor for them. When I did he would prescribe an antibiotic and the earache would temporarily go away, but then be right back in a week or two. Finally he decided I had sinus problems and prescribed a couple of medicines that helped somewhat, but still did not eliminate my ear problem, so he advised that I should go on two more prescribed drugs and they would probably take care of the problem. . . I refused. These prescriptions would have cost in the neighborhood of $300/month and additionally some of them had rather unpleasant side effects. Now, I do have health insurance and after meeting my deductible, it would have covered 80% of the cost, but roughly $3600 per year for my sinuses???? I felt there had to be a better, simpler way to deal with the problem, so I started researching on the Internet for what else might be available. . .and I found this quercetin/bromelain product. Reading many many articles in the public press, and a few scientific studies, etc. piqued my interest and I ordered my first bottle about 10 weeks ago. The initial effect was immediate. Really within minutes my sinuses began opening. . .within days my ears stopped aching and in a few weeks my energy level had gone up to a point I hadnt had in maybe 20-30 years. Again reading on the Internet, I hadnt realized what a problem chronic sinusitis could be and I want to tell you that I never considered myself to be one who had a sinus problem. I never had any obvious signs. My nose wasnt continually stuffed up. I did not realize that I had constant drainage, etc., but chronic sinusitis can have as a symptom: great fatigue. Im afraid that my extreme enthusiasm for this product will make you think Im some sort of a nut, but since starting to take it Im walking my dog 2-4 miles per day. Ive lost considerable weight. My grand children are living with us at the moment, Ive begun to get up out of bed 2 hours earlier than I need to for my Bible devotions and to have breakfast with my grand children. I feel better than I have in years and years. I think the chronic sinusitis was like carrying around a 30 or 40 pound weight everywhere I went. It was a drag on my whole system. Maybe this wont work as well for you, but for me it literally has been a life changer. . .

> 3 dayWow! Why did this go up 10$ in two months? I’ve bought this for the last 8 years and love it but with the price increase I’ll need to find another brand.

> 3 dayI cant take OTC or prescription allergy products due to the side effects and have seasonal allergies in addition to high sensitivity to onion and garlic, anything in the allium family in general, fennel, spider bites, etc. I have been taking 2 capsules of this twice a day (800 mg Quercetin/330 mg Bromelain 2 times per day on an empty stomach) for three years now. I took a health magazine article where an allergy specialist suggested this dosage to my doctor who prefers alternative treatment. When used for seasonal issues, the allergy specialist recommended starting this dosage 4-6 weeks before the start of the allergy season and continuing through the season. In my case, I found that the longer I am on it, the more I can also tolerate or react less to my food sensitivities. This means that while I cant eat onion at all, I can now get by with some onion seasoning and can add a few chunks of onion to the bottom of a roast or in a stew/soup for flavor. As long as I control the amount added and dont actually ingest the onion, this seems to work, most of the time. Now I can eat garlic seasoning and small amounts of cooked garlic, which is such a relief as it adds so much flavor to things and while I miss my onion in cooking/eating, I was a much bigger fan of garlic. When I do have reactions to eating something Im sensitive to, I just take an extra 800mg dose of this about an hour after eating if I notice some reaction. I still get internal throat and ear itching sensations during allergy season. When that happens, I add a third 800mg dose of this daily for awhile and drink one or two packets of Emergen-C. If I have moderate/severe itching and drink a packet of Emergen-C, that seems to reduce the itching after about an hour, but that has only been true since I started taking Quercetin with Bromelain. I hadnt been bit by a spider for years and got bit a few months ago. As soon as I was bit, the area began tingling, hurting, turning red and swelling, but not as bad as before I took this product. In the past, Ive carried an Epi-pen, but I guess Ive been lazy and let that go, because it isnt often one gets bit by a spider unless it is an occupational or hobby hazard. Anyway, I was bit on the web of my finger, Normally the reaction would be for my entire hand to swell, turn red and hurt and it would take a week of Benadryl capsules for it to resolve back to normal. The reaction this time was about 2 inches around the bite site. I applied Benadryl cream, and covered the site with a piece of tape to draw out the venom. After about 15 minutes, I decided that really wasnt helping, so I opened a charcoal capsule and made a paste with a few drops of water and applied it to the bite for a good half hour. With my much more limited reaction on the Quercetin/Bromelain, the charcoal paste application was able to do the trick. A few hours after the bite, there was absolutely no allergic reaction left. It was even hard to see where I had been bit...just a small red dot with a little skin puncture was detectable. Originally I took straight Quercetin capsules without Bromelain. However I know I have been using this brand with Bromelain for at least 1.5 years now and I do think the Bromelain makes a difference and since I am better on this than not, I can tell you that his brand is effective.

> 3 dayTLDR: this stuff is a miracle. This is going to be a long review. Ive had severe TMJD pain for the last 5+ years. I had mostly been able to deal with it with ibuprophen. Last year I randomly became allergic to IBUprophen and my Dr. has prescribed me multiple pain relievers, muscle relaxants etc... Ultimately we settled on fioricet. Between that and regular tylenol, the rebound headaches have been absolutely horrible. If I take nothing I end up with a feeling that someone is stabbing me in the ear with a pencil that radiates up the side of my face and head and makes it virtually impossible to get out of bed. I recently had a CT scan that revealed I have major sinus inflammation as well, though I dont generally feel congested at all. After a little research I decided to try this product. Ive only been taking it a few days but cannot express the relief it has given me. Ive only had to take Tylenol once in the last two days and havent had to take the fioricet at all. Pain medication is something I have relied on taking heavily multiple times a day for over five years. I havent been able to go a day without it. This is a huge improvement for me. I wanted to get the word out there in case someone else can benefit from this like I have so far. Will update if necessary any changes in improvement. So far I am highly satisfied.

> 3 dayMy dog has seasonal allergies that have gotten progressively worse each year since we moved to this new state. This year, Benadryl at the highest allowed dosage wasnt making a dent, so we decided to try going with a more natural treatment plan to see if that would work. Our dog is around 55 lbs, and we were advised to start with one pill of Quercetin with Bromelain in the morning and one pill in the evening about 20 minutes or so prior to his morning/evening meal. If he had any issues, we could give at meal time instead. While he never had an issue taking the Benadryl pills with peanut butter, these were a little on the large size, so I decided to open them up and mix the powder with roughly 1 Tbsp of applesauce. He loved it as saw it as a treat. I gave him this then immediately fed him his regular meal. For the first two days, he took the double dose and then 1 Benadryl pill at night. By the third day, we were able to completely stop the Benadryl. Within a week, he was back to his normal, happy self. At that point, I dropped him down to only 1 pill a day, and its been working great since then. At the same time that I added this to his diet, I started giving him 1 Tbsp of coconut oil a day. Hes loving his new medicine. Obviously, each dog is different and this is not medical advice. Its just what worked for us. I went with the NOW brand because I was familiar with the company and had used their products in the past.

> 3 dayI was on a prescription seasonal allergy pill for ten years. As time went by, it appeared to be less effective. When I would ease back on the doses or quit taking it in winter (I live in the Midwest), my sinuses would plug up horribly and skin rashes would develop. If I got past those withdrawal effects, the itching would kick in. It was indescribable: constant, profound, affecting my sleep. No question, my body was addicted to the medication! I decided after much research to try quercetin as a natural alternative, to relieve these withdrawal symptoms and help me with my allergies moving forward. That was October 2018. The withdrawal symptoms lessened within the first couple days and within a month they were almost completely gone. When 2019 allergy season rolled around, I had an occasional drippy nose...after years of watery eyes and piles of tissues on a daily basis! I also used to get chronic upper respiratory infections, two or three every spring, and these, too, are in the past. I am not prone to long reviews, but I was inspired by other reviewers when choosing the NOW brand and felt I needed to pay it forward! I could never have predicted how much this supplement has improved my quality of life.
