Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2X NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans (Brown)

If you are looking at this CPU cooler, realize that I have a Thermaltake Level 20 GT and its huge inside this case. While it still fits pretty snug it does have an issue where its leaning hard against one of my RAM sticks and Im afraid its going to snap it out one day. I intend to get a AiO CPU water cooler instead to reduce the side and get better cooling results. The MoBo I have is the MSI z390 God-like board. The spacing on the board doesnt allow for such a big CPU fan cooler to rest nicely. It was a bit hard to get it in without feeling like I was about to break the RAM stick and slot while installing it overtop. I think if the ram sticks were normal and not so big I dont think youll have a problem fitting it. I have the G.Skill RGB series and they are much bigger than normal sticks that dont including all the flashy lights =P

My CPU was heating up to 115c on start up according to Hwinfo 64 and during idle it would dance from 40C-92C.. The water pumped sounded like it was gargling hot liquid when I tried to game. I knew I had a cooling problem and suspected ever since I bought the rig a double stack liquid cooler for a I9 wasnt enough. It always had heating problems when id play big games but never this.

This cooler runs extremely quiet.

Years later and still one of the best purchases I made for my PC!

normally I would be against large heat sinks but until liquid cooling becomes more safer and less prone to leaking Im sticking with noctua cooling. Fans provided need to be changed otherwise they will be loud. Plus side is my cpu is very much cooler than what the stock cooler from my AMD ryzen 5 provided. Worth the money if you can pick on up just make sure your case can fit it.

This thing is silent. I had another brand on my CPU for over a year, and never thought much of the sound. I got this one because of another project I was building. I decided to buy this cooler for my computer and use the current one for it. I cant even tell my computer is on unless I look at the tower light. It keeps my CPU cool and remains silent.

I love this cooler for my 5950x, but it barely fits in my Carbide 400R mid-tower case, definitely needing the side-panel bulge. Make sure you have the room for it. If you do, this is probably one of the best air-coolers out there. Probably overkill for most CPUs though.
