> 3 dayThis switch works pretty well in my opinion. I actually really love having this for my server. It has a good transfer rate between the modem and access point. This provides me with a lot of different options which is really good. I have used it to play a lan game. Another thing I noticed about this product is that it does get a bit warm when you use all the ports so make sure you have it in an open area to make sure you have enough air flow. It does require a power source and you can use it with an access point if need be to create a wireless connection. It pretty much plug and play so you dont have to worry about any other installation. It does not come with a ethernet cable so be aware of that when you are using this. Also ensure you plug into the correct port in order for the data transfer to connect. Overall this product is great. It gives me additional ports and provides my server with a punch of more things.

> 3 dayGood switch, worked great right out of the box. Feature ratings misleading-this is not WIFI-Its a hard wired switch. I also didnt need tech support, its basically being used as a dumb switch. Plug it in, connect the Cat 5 cables and away you go. Big improvement in speeds over WIFI. Prior I had speed tests of about 29Mbps with WIFI and got close to the 200Mbps Im paying for with the switch. Which is expected with WIFI, but thats why I bought it for the desktop connections.

> 3 dayWorks great as a gig-E switch. Amazing value for the price. Only one complaint - that the LEDs dont show 10/100/1000 status. Not even when the case on top says green=1000, yellow=10/100. LEDs are always green, even at 100 Mbit. Flash when active.

> 3 dayGreat switch that replaced my old FS116. I just unplugged the old switch and plugged in the new one and voila! My internet speeds over my home network dramatically increased. Nice buy!

> 3 dayWhats not to like? An 8-port gigabit/sec ethernet switch at this price point. Amazing. No fuss: no cross-over cables (device autodetects), no configuration, plug the upstream device into any of the ports. Simple, construction seems solid. Hard to go wrong.

> 3 dayIm a Network Engineer of 20+ years so I cant compare this to the type of equipment that I am used to working with; however, thats not why you buy this switch. Its great for extending your home network if you want Gig speeds and a few other features that just destroyed Wi-Fi. Its got enough ports (no PoE) for any room, its quiet, and its managed via an odd GUI. Not a bad little Layer-2 switch!
