Needed a switch to connect a bunch of security cameras back to an NVR and this switch fit the bill because I didnt need POE for the cameras. Works flawlessly - it was plug and play and has been perfectly stable for a very long period of time. Good value for your money.

The GS308 is a sturdy unit that can withstand a decade or more use without a thought of its presence. It does its job flawlessly. I had to replace my decade old GS308 because of a lightning strike that crippled two ports. Lesser units may have been fried completely. With a unit like this, using the user friendly Netgear tech support should never occur. It is reasonably priced, sturdy, can be tucked away in a marginal environment, and unless struck by lightning, be forgotten. In a time when nearly every product is totally new every six months, something being produced for over 10 years must have something going for it. Like I said, it does the job.
