> 3 dayThis was purrfect for my feral cat during the freeze in Houston, TX in Feb 2021. I put it on top of a chair in my garage and she stayed on it for the 4 days of freezing weather. Glad I bought!

Greater than one weekI have two cats, and I got one for each of them. One, wouldnt touch it (she has longer fur and weighs more, so shes already warm). The other (who is thinner and has shorter fur), absolutely obsessed, even in summer. I gave away the first one for someones small dog, but the one I kept has held up for a couple years and my cat is still found on it pretty much every day. I have to unplug it some days because shell sleep on it even during a heat wave - she seriously spends hours every day on it. Sometimes she pulls her actual bed over and uses it as a pillow while shes on her heat mat. Shes so upset when I have to unplug it after she has surgery/a dental cleaning (because I cant trust her to be able to get up if she gets too warm when shes on anesthesia and pain meds), but the first day I DO turn it on, once shes off her meds, she spends the entire day on it. Im really happy she has something to keep her warm in our Michigan winter, because she is alone at night and I used to worry about if she got too cold... now I only have to worry if the power goes out. The cord is really thick and sturdy. My cat has like two teeth, so she cant chew on cords anyway, so I have no idea how sturdy it is for cats who do like to chew. My other cat is a cord chewer, but she never used hers - and they live sepatately for medical reasons, so my other cat has no access to this one. The orange fabric cover comes off, so it should wash pretty well. So far I havent had to wash it (though I do use a lint brush on it from time to time to remove hair), so I havent taken the cover all the way off and cant comment on how the cover holds up in the wash.. but it has held up since I got it in Feb of 2020. So the big con (which I knew about when ordering so Im not taking stars off for this) - mainly the temperature control, which is.... pretty much none. Its meant to be controlled by weight, so when shes not on it its not really warm, and then it heats up when shes on it. I like that it doesnt stay constantly warm, but it would be nice to have some kind of control. The other thing is, it IS just a mat. Theres absolutely no padding, and I think she would probably prefer if it was a bit softer/padded... but since its on an old couch (nobody uses it except her anyway), its not a big deal. I think theres probably better ones out there if you have a bigger budget, but this is a really decent heat mat and my cat is in love with it. Considering it has a 50/50 success rate with my cats (in terms of liking it), I think its a good option to get if youre not sure if your cat or dog would like a heat mat. But if you DO know they like them, it may be worth it to spend a little more if you can afford it. I originally got them for $20 each, the 12x15 size. The size is perfect for her, she CAN curl up on it but she often likes to spread out and spin around occasionally so that all of her gets warm, which she would have to do regardless of size. Overall, yes I would buy it again, but Id probably try to find one thats a little nicer (heat control and padding) first if it was in my budget. I would DEFINITELY get these if I was fostering several cats or had messy cats that may need it to be cleaned frequently, since cleaning does seem to be really easy with this one.

> 3 dayThe only reason I didnt give 5 stars, the description states its 22 watts however there is nothing on the package or electrical specs on the pad to verify this. I was replacing an 11 watt pad with this due to the cat house being outdoor on a covered porch. This does produce more heat than the previous pad, and I like the non adjustable thermostat control which is less likely to be accidentally set at the wrong setting. Thanks Wayne

Greater than one weekHave this out in my cat house. Fits great in one of the round kitty beds. Ive had it on consistently what with the colder weather and it stays nice and warm without overheating. Right now I have my momma cat sitting in it and some kitty always is as it keeps them nice and warm. Very pleased, paws up.

> 3 dayI have an older ragdoll cat who craves heat. Especially in the winter months. Bought this to replace a heating pad. This is safer. I place in her bed and cover with a towel to keep it clean.

> 3 dayPerfect heating pad for small animals that require heat. It stays on and stays on low so no risk of burns. Easy to remove cover for washing.

> 3 dayGood quality, heavy duty chew proof cord. It gives off the right amount of heat. It’s an added bonus since we have it at the foot of our bed for our fuzzy face and we even get enjoyment of toasty toes when we climb in bed too!!

> 3 dayThis does work great, and its just right for my cat... love the long cord.... but it does make a not-unpleasant noise about 1/3 of the time its on, which is basically like a very quiet cicada. Nothing terrible, the cat doesnt really mind and I dont either, but just saying... its making some noise. Some people might be put off by that or worry that its a fire risk. Doesnt seem to be.

> 3 dayI am revising my review because maybe it needed more time to heat up the whole surface. My foster kittens do like it after all. It takes some time to heat up. Not a bad purchase after all. I’m raising my star rating. - I just bought this for my foster kittens and I am not impressed because it barely heats up. I also don’tfeel the heat on the edges as much as the center. As listed, there are no heat controls .

> 3 dayI used this with 2 day old foster kittens. I would lay it at the base of their nest and cover with a thin cloth for easy washing so I wouldn’t have to always take the cover off. It was perfect. The kittens stayed warm and safe, and when they messed onto the cover it was so easy to spot clean I didn’t have to take the cover off and put it in the washer very often. I preferred this pad over the microwave kind because the temperature is steady, it doesn’t get too hot but I don’t have to wait for it to be cold to reheat like the microwave type. I use the other type for temporary or travel use, like if they are being transferred I. The carrier or if I am putting them in a separate space to clean their area. This was ideal for what it was needed for and the covering over the cord made me feel safe that their little claws or new teeth wouldn’t damage it and cause harm.
