> 3 dayI bought this fan on the way to my dads house, Spring 2012, because I live in WA state and he lives in GA and he needed me to stay with him a while. I bought it from a local retailer, but its the exact same fan. From day one Ive referred to it as my man-made cyclone - funny as the company now calls the new model the Cyclone. This fan is the only reason Ive been able to exist here in the deep south. I wound up having to stay with my dad - both :) and :( - and this fan has run nearly every day since purchase and is still going strong. I do take it apart every spring and clean it good. It isnt hard and all I do is use the brush attachment of the vacuum cleaner on the motor section. I even wash the fan without the motor with soap and water in the bath tub and semi do the same to the back without getting the motor wet. I think the annual cleaning has kept the bearings from wearing out. This fan is the best air mover Ive ever owned - so, I have to wonder what people are comparing this fan too when they say it barely moves air - an industrial warehouse fan? From 10 feet, on low, it blows enough air to blow a dress hanging from the frame of my closet door to the floor. On high it blows my long hair sideways while sitting at my desk which is about 10 feet away. On low I have to have paperweights on my desk or documents become wallpaper. I hope that paints a clear picture of how much air this sucker (er blower) moves. I also think it blows much cooler than oscillating fans because oscillators heat up and usually are on higher posts that move warmer air. This moves the air from the floor (cooler) upward or outward across the room. My dads friends and our family chuckle at me because everywhere I go around this house and even on the patio I have two things... my beloved four-legged bestie and my man-made cyclone. Im thinking of stocking up because I have never owned a fan that works this well.

> 3 dayWe have been using the Lasko High Velocity Wind Machines for over a decade and we are just now starting to replace them. We have dried ice hockey and lacrosse equipment, kept dorm rooms and bedrooms cool and even use them on our dock to keep flies away from our lounge chairs as we relax. I cant recommend these fans enough and will continue to buy them as long as they are sold.

> 3 dayI bought this fan several times, its reliable and efficient. The wind machine does make a lot of noise but that suits my purpose as I tend to keep the fan running all day as background noise. I live in the city, and its pretty noisy, so this fan helps muffle out those unpleasant sounds. Ive had wind machines for years and the motors never gave out. Only reason Ive ever really had to replace them its because the casing of the fan, which is not heavy duty plastic tends to break very easily. But only if youre not handling it with care. I also like how powerful it blows air. These fans tend to accumulate a lot of dust, but they have screws in the back of the fan that allows you to open them and clean them. Ive recommended this fan to family members and Friends but if youre looking for a fan that makes no noise this is not the fan for you.

12-11-2024I love this fan!! It is very sturdy and strong. The floor fans in the stores are flimsy now but this one stays in place no matter which way you angle it.

> 3 dayI love the air output of this fan! My old one died after 6 years of continual use. I was so glad to see that this fan wasn’t discontinued and was so excited to reorder it!

Greater than one weekI love my Lasko fans and use them around the clock. Louisianas heat and humidity make airflow a must to survive. The white noise is great at night to muffle out the southern sounds of nature.

> 3 dayI have owned this fan for 4+ years and it is one of the best fans Ive owned. Lasko has a good reputation that is well deserved considering all the Lasko products Ive owned have lasted years. I originally bought this to bring cooler air from the hallway into the bedroom. Soon after I got it, my pedestal fan stopped working. Since my bedroom gets A LOT of sun I use a fan all year, so Ive been using it on top of a hamper (and still use it) almost every night for about 4 years and Ive had no issues with it. It does make a bit of noise but its a proportionate amount of noise which is to be expected from a wind machine and any high velocity fan. It is high velocity but I would consider it at the lowest end. I had expected it to be much stronger than it is. My favorite thing about the fan is how easy it is to clean. I have pets and live in a wooded area so dust, dirt, and fur is a constant struggle, even with a strong air purifier. With the removal of 6 small screws I have it apart and am able to clean the blades and the grill.
