If your chicks have their wings open against the warm surface, trying to capture as much warmth as they can, they arent warm enough. If their position is normal, theyre probably warm enough but use a thermometer. I use a warm pad and a 50-75 watt light bulb. That way if the lightbulb burns out, as has happened to me, they still have warmth. I start at at about 90 or 95 degrees, then drop temps 5 degrees/week. If they are too hot theyll get off the mat. Once they are feathered out and nighttime temps are above 50 degrees, theyre probably safe. Thats the rule of thumb Ive even used for Emu chicks!

My pet chewed both the pad and the cable. Thankfully, he didnt get electrified. I wanted reach out to the vendor, but theres no button or option to contact them. My return window is also closed, so Im left with a chewed and nonworking pad.

I bought this heating pad for my rabbit. It works great.

Bunny did chew through the cable protector the first night but has left it alone since. Working great!

Got this for our outdoor cat house that we made out of a large rubbermaid container. We cut a dome notch out of the front for our kitty to get in and out. Filled with blankets for warmth. It was getting colder outside and I felt bad for her....so I purchased this heater. She loves it and stays in her house during the day sometimes just cause it feels nice. Its stays warm like a laptop or computer tower does, but not hot. Perfect for what we needed.

Not for kittens. Ours had it folded and it scorched. Had to throw it away

My rabbit chewed through the cord. It also did not good heat well. Very disappointed
