> 3 dayUnscented paper-based and aspen are the ONLY safe beddings for hamsters--pine, cedar, and scented beddings cause respiratory problems, and cotton can tangle around and cut off limbs and will cause intestinal blockages/death if consumed. This bedding is soft and has no scent. Its very compressed and fluffs up to 2-3 times its size when taken out. Very absorbent, and if your cage is above the BARE MINIMUM recommended 450 sq inches for hamsters, youll only need to change it in full about once a month, with spot-cleaning in between. The worst Ive gotten is a slightly dusty batch, but that mostly stays at the bottom of the bag. Ive never been disappointed by this bedding. Absolutely recommend.

> 3 dayI buy this product often at the local petstore for anywhere drom 15-20$ and decided one day to see if amazon carried it. Not only did they carry it but it was a larger bag and Almost 1/4th the price. Thr product comes compact so its able to store fairly easy and by rubbing it with your fingers or letting your critter pull it apart it expands. I use it for a hamster and it keeps the smell very minimal and absorbs urine fairly well but not completely. If you have a smaller cage cleaning every 3-5 days is optimal and a larger cage you can get away with maybe 5-8 days without a bad odor. Poo does not get absorbed but it does keep it from sticking to the bottom of the cage and makes for easy removal. As for my critter. She seems to love it. It keeps her warm in the winter and she is able to make a large pile for herself to cozy up in and is still able to breathe. But it does not dtay in place like some den materials may be able to. It is easy for her to move and manuver to do what she wants with it. Cleaning the cage is easy enough and usually it can be just dumped directly in the bin and refilled. It lasts a long time as well and its well worth the calue for the price.

> 3 dayI really like this bedding and my hamster loves it, it holds the shape of his tunnels really well and it’s super soft and fluffy. i’ve used about two and a half bags so far and had no problems. When i cleaned his cage last night i found this scary metal piece, all of his toys and hides are wooden so there is no way it came from anything else besides in the bedding. I’m really disappointed because i loved this, but I will be thinking before repurchasing for him again.

> 3 dayThis product was very difficult to get out of the packaging as it was vacuum sealed and all the little pieces were compressed together. I literally have to dig my nails around a chuck to break it off and then break it up little by little into soft little pieces. If you put only a very shallow amount in the cage (where you can still see the bottom--which defeats the purpose), it will stay soft and fluffy until it gets soiled. Installed like this, it also gets kicked out of the cage easily. When you apply a thick layer to the point where your piggies wont kick it out of the cage when they run around, it starts matting down on each other and eventually, become kind of like the hard block again. When I went to clean the cage, I had to turn the entire thing upside down over my green cycle and use a little shovel or my hand to dig it out of the bottom of the cage. If I didnt hold it over the green cycle, I would have to shovel it out of the cage. The top looked fine, but it was wet and disgusting on the bottom; I guess that is okay since it kept it away from the piggles. I ended up using this bedding only in the divided section of their cage where their water and food was so it would absorb leaks from the water bottle or spills from their bowl. The pros about this product is that it is very absorbant and if you get it in white, you can easily see where the poop is to clean it out. Since it mats to itself, you can often use a dust buster to suck up the poop because it wont suck up with it. I wish I had not purchased a 2 pack.

> 3 dayIt was supposed to be dust free, but as you can see in the photos it is not. That dust was from 1 day! Way worse than shavings! It was easy to clean out because it packed down so I could scoop big clumps out with each scoop. It is the consistency of shredded toilet tissue. Not very practical for baby chicks as I had hoped. Way too dusty!
