> 24 hourReview of Howard Products BBB012 Cutting Board Oil, 12 oz I like the John Boos Mystery Oil and Cream better. It seems like the Howard Products oil soaks in and evaporates. The Boos oil & cream (use the oil first and then the cream) - those products last for months before I need to re-do them. All my countertops and island have butcher block.

> 24 hourWe have a butchers block in the middle of our kitchen. It is an antique piece that definitely is a eyecatcher for our kitchen. That being said, it needs some love. I ordered this product and it totally revives the butcher block. The butcher block completely drinks up this oil. Another huge plus, we have soapstone countertops and a soapstone backsplash in our kitchen. We were told mineral oil will help restore luster and shine with the stone, especially after if has been cleaned. I cannot express how much this oil has improved our countertops/backsplash. They look better than brand new. I am so glad to have found this oil. It has exceeded my expectations.

> 24 hourI recently bought a high-end acacia wood carving board, and I discovered upon receipt that it hadnt been seasoned. The company recommended a food-grade mineral oil or butcher block oil. After some research, I settled on this Howard Products oil. Its perfect for what I wanted. To season before first use, I applied three coats, letting each dry 20 minutes and wiping off excess in between. The wood soaked it up so, really, I didnt have any appreciable excess. Instantly, the wood had additional depth and beauty. Now, when I use the board, I wash, dry, then apply a single coat of oil to preserve and protect the wood until its next use. This oil doesnt go rancid the way a vegetable oil would. I highly recommend this oil, although I admit I have nothing to compare it all. All I know is that it works beautifully. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

> 24 hourI should have bought this a long time ago. Works great on my wooden cutting boards, now I use it on wooden handles of kitchen utensils, etc. great stuff. No smell (that I can detect) and lasts long enough between washings.

> 24 hourWe have several cutting boards and kitchen work surfaces that are make of bamboo and several other types of woods, including some special ones like gnocchi and cavarola boards. I treat them regularly with this; it seems to do a very good job, and the bottle goes a long way. BTW - if you are tempted to just use canola or olive oil you have on hand - dont :-). You need to use an oil that will not go rancid over time.

> 24 hourI recently took it upon myself to refinish my familys ancient 60s cutting boards... you know, the ones that slide out from the counters and are an original part of our horribly outdated pink-tiled kitchen. I have 3 of these cutting boards in total, probably roughly 18x24, and a 1 thick. I sanded them down (a feat in and of itself) and finished up the wood with this product. My cutting board looks gorgeous and brand new! I love them so much now that I will probably keep them for heavy duty cutting after the kitchen gets remodeled. Ive only been able to do one cutting board so far due to my time constraints, but I still have plenty of this oil left to do the other two. Ive included a picture of the one I refinished vs. one that hasnt been refinished yet just to give an idea of the transformation. Great product, beautiful cutting boards!

> 24 hourWe bought a new butchers block that was Newley made. So we needed to use mineral oil on the wood a few times. This worked great. I had to use it a few times and use a little elbow grease. But I would have had to do that with anyone I would have bought. There is no smell which is great.

> 24 hourIve used this product for many years. I use this food-safe mineral oil for lubricating kitchen shear pivot points, sealing wooden knife blocks, as well as sealing wooden cutting boards. A little goes a long way!
