> 3 dayA cutting board can dry out and also harbor bacteria. Cleaning a cutting board and then applying cutting board oil can prolong the life of your board. It also improves the looks of the board. This product meets all the requirements needed to make your cutting board look, feel and perform at its best. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayIf you have nice wooden cutting boards or other kitchen accessories, one of the items you need to have on hand to prevent wear and cracking of those items is food grade mineral oil. I picked up a bottle of Howard BBB012 Cutting Board Oil a few weeks ago to treat our new pizza peel and it works great. Application is very straight forward... simply apply the oil directly to the wooden surface and then wipe with the grain using a soft cotton towel (Ive found that paper towels work pretty well in a pinch as well). After application let rest for 20+ minutes and then wipe clean to pick up any additional residue. If the surface is really dried out, or youre applying for the first time, it may be wise to repeat several times to really get a good seal. The result is a beautiful luster when you are done, almost as if you have applied a stain. Rich colors and the detailed grain patterns emerge. There isnt too much to say about the performance, its an oil, so it will make a mess if youre not careful. I recommend putting on less than you think you need. You can always apply more if its not enough! If you have nice pieces, its definitely worth a few dollars to keep them looking nice and ensuring that they will be around for a long time to come. We only have a few wooden cutting boards and this new wooden pizza peel (also from Amazon, see my other reviews), and I think this 12oz bottle will last at least a couple years, maybe longer. **Be sure that you NEVER run your wooden cutting board (or any nice wooden cookware for that matter) through the dishwasher. Always hand wash**

> 3 dayI think it’s a little high priced for mineral oil, but it’s competitive for Amazon. Plastic bottle was well sealed, so there was no problem with the container leaking. It’s not made in China, and that is important for any food or food grade product (IMO). It had no odor and it seemed to be very pure mineral oil. Warning: it comes out quicker than you think it will when applying! My old cutting board was badly in need of conditioning & my new bamboo cutting board looks great after applying. If you were going to oil an entire butcher block table or countertop, you will probably need a larger amount. The manufacturer offers lots of helpful, detailed information here on Amazon about using the product & how often you should oil your cutting boards. I discovered that I can use it for my cast iron cookware too! So overall I am happy with the product & the price.

> 3 dayI have a modest 1960s home that had beautiful wood cabinets from Nappanee Indiana. Part of this included an integrated cutting board. Id cleaned this board and sanded it down but left it until I could get oil for it. Life got in the way and this board sat for 15 years sanded and not sealed with oil. I finally bought this stuff and oh my I am impressed with how much oil it has soaked up. I am also impressed with how good this rather simple board looks. I have applied a good heavy coat and had very little excess to wipe off. Will do another tomorrow and then use the wood conditioner to maintain this and all of my neglected boards and countertops. This stuff is inexpensive and works very well. Very much worth the cost and easy to apply.
