Greater than one weekWe have been using various wood treatment products for the butcher block top on our rolling shelf unit, and with no success. This seems to be what weve been hoping to find.

> 3 dayWhat can one say about mineral oil? Besides being priced about right, it does what it says. After about 3 months it has kept my cutting boards, one bamboo 15 by 19, the other teak 11-1/2 by 13-1/2, in prime condition and looking good. Ive known many, many people who have never oiled their boards and now I understand why they eventually cracked and or fell apart. Granted they are not expensive; but why destroy a good board if you are only spending about $8 (12 0z.) to preserve them? Howard BBB012 Cutting Board Oil is enriched with Vitamin E and made from USP food-grade mineral oil in the USA. The oil is colorless, odorless, tasteless and washes from your hands easily. Very pleased to know it is not a heavily oily substance. It is light weight and soaked into my boards easily with little to no residue within minutes. I would recommend this product. . NOTE: As of October 2015, I still have the same bottle for my two wood cutting boards and still very happy with the results. It doesnt take much to oil them up.

> 3 dayWe used this on our room trim - around the windows, on the floor boards, and the doors. Im overall AMAZED at the difference that it made! Our house was built in 1994 and I (now) feel like Ive been neglecting the wood work. I never realized youd have to do anything other than wipe it down ... I now know better! Anyway, I painted the walls and my husband cleaned the wood work (as we normally do - with a damp cloth and slightly soapy water) and then used this oil to finish it off. I cant believe how quickly the wood sucked up the oil and gave all of our wood a luxurious shine! Id forgotten how it looked new! I am amazed and hope the wood work continues to glow. Id highly recommend giving this a try - it is amazing stuff (without a nasty feel)!

01-11-2024This a great product. I used it to protect a couple of bamboo cutting boards. I didnt have any problems. I found the best way to apply it was put a little on the cutting board and use a paper towel to spread over the cutting board. A little goes a long way. I would buy this again and recommend it.

Greater than one weekI have used both the Howard Butcher Block CONDITIONER and the OIL. It is not clear how these products differ, so Ill give my experience. I have a large butcher block that I use as a kitchen island. I do not cut directly on the butcher block, but I routinely do all my prep on it. I originally used the Butcher Block CONDITIONER (with the bees wax). It worked well, but I found that it left a residue (it felt fuzzy) and that it would get stains and water spots (both from food and containers). I was sanding and re-apply the CONDITIONER every 6 months. I would typically put on 3-4 coats of the CONDITIONER after sanding. I tried the OIL to see if it would work better. And it did! Its protects the wood better and is much easier to apply. I dont get any more stains or water spots, there is no residue, and it looks great. I think the OIL seeps better into wood. With both the CONDITIONER and the OIL, I would apply then wait 20 minutes to wipe up any excess. With the OIL, there is very little excess. With the CONDITIONER, there was a lot of excess. Im very glad I switched to the OIL and havent had any issues.

> 3 dayI recently took it upon myself to refinish my familys ancient 60s cutting boards... you know, the ones that slide out from the counters and are an original part of our horribly outdated pink-tiled kitchen. I have 3 of these cutting boards in total, probably roughly 18x24, and a 1 thick. I sanded them down (a feat in and of itself) and finished up the wood with this product. My cutting board looks gorgeous and brand new! I love them so much now that I will probably keep them for heavy duty cutting after the kitchen gets remodeled. Ive only been able to do one cutting board so far due to my time constraints, but I still have plenty of this oil left to do the other two. Ive included a picture of the one I refinished vs. one that hasnt been refinished yet just to give an idea of the transformation. Great product, beautiful cutting boards!
