Liked the accuracy of the unit locating circuit breakers in my home. Requires a few seconds of pre-testing to train the unit as to where the electricity (transmission) is located. Works great! Would buy from them again if I needed another unit.

Carefully following the instructions - doing the calibration pass, followed by the second identify pass, it would only occasionally find the circuit, and only then if the transmitter was plugged into a plug that was physically close to the breaker. I thought I must have a defective unit, so I exchanged it for another, and had the same results. I tried outlets in every room of the house. I tried doing the calibration pass slowly or quickly. Same frustrating results. Judging from other reviewers, it appears this unit is not compatible with all types of breakers. Two different units, carefully used, were useless with my house, so I give this one star. I would also have deducted a star for the poor design of the power switch, but alas, Its already at one star.

I tried to use this but it would not identify the circuit.

This product works as advertised. I have both circuit breakers and older screw-in fuse panels and Circuit Detective readily found the individual circuits in both panels. I used a two-way handi-talker to communicate with a helper who plugged the transmitter into circuits while I used the detective to locate circuits. Nice tool!

the on/off switch is right where you hold it and when using you can turn it off while holding it. Sent it back.

This device works fine as long as the instructions are followed carefully. It did get confused once or twice indicating that a circuit could be powered by one of two adjacent circuit breakers. But when I removed the panel cover I noticed the wire from the correct breaker had been routed down near the breaker below before angling away. This is a fault of the eletrician that originally wired the panel and not the HTP-6 and appears to be a common problem. I would have given this 5-stars instead of 4 but for the overly sensitive on/off switch.
