> 24 hourIt works well if you follow the directions. You must keep the arrow up and go over the wholw panel first or you get false readings

> 24 hourI purchased this model circuit detective in Nov.05. I have yet to see it find a correct circuit after following the directions to the letter. I recently returned it to the company (Hi-Tech), asking for a replacment under the lifetime warranty only to have them return the same unit to me stating that there was nothing wrong with it. I guess I believed the hype about the different technology and it cost me $30+. My recommendation is to save your money and find a helper to hollar when the power goes off for a particular circuit as you flip the breakers in the basement.

> 24 hourI used my HTP-6 Circuit Detective for the first time yesterday. The instructions seemed simple; however, I went to the web site and watched a video demonstrating how to use it. I thought things were progressing well until I checked the circuits by closing the breakers involved. The HTP-6 was wrong as often as it was right. So, what is the point? Perhaps I have a defective unit. Still, now that I have done the legwork and identified all of the breakers associated with all of the outlets and fixtures in my home, does anyone want to buy a once-used HTP-6 Circuit Detective which may or may not get you electrocuted?

> 24 hourWorks as advertised. Save a ton of money replacing the electrical sockets in the house we bought. FOLLOW the directions word for word and there will be no issues with its performance.

> 24 hourThis unit quickly and accurately identifies which breaker feeds a circuit. Even though I have small Challenger breakers it easily picked out the right one. Tremendous help when needing to shut down a circuit for a repair.

> 24 hourI was able to map all but one of the outlets in the house. Not sure what the issue was there. The rest of the outlets were simple to map, just be sure to hold the sensor at the breaker box horizontal, and make more than one pass slowly over ALL of the breakers. One of my outlets was cross-wired between two breakers, so now I have to call an electrician. Light fixtures mapping works, too, as long as they allow a screw-in plug outlet into the bulb socket. I havent figured out how to map a hard-wired fluorescent light fixture, but Ill figure that one out. One hint: once youve got everything mapped and written down, put a label on the inside of each outlet and light-switch cover as to the circuit on the panel that governs whats under that cover. That way, if you need to change an outlet or switch, or want to cut off power to that outlet or switch, you dont need to puzzle over the brilliant list that you made - the cover plate tells you which breaker to turn off.
