Since I started using this floss, I have no visible plaque buildups between dental appointments. Before it used to really build up especially along my lower front teeth. The dentist says my teeth and gums are in great shape and is no longer recommending scraping and planing as she had before. The big (and only) downside for me is the new packaging. Its way too flimsy and makes it difficult to break off a piece to use, perhaps especially for older hands. I know its eco-friendly and Im all for that. but maybe they could figure out better packaging.

I love the floss and have been using it for years. I don’t like the paper case. It is flimsy and when it gets wet, it falls apart. I ended up using an old plastic case from one of the dental floss that my dentist gave me. It will be great if they offer a reusable plastic case and let us buy refills.

This is the best dental floss I have found to scrub the plaque off the teeth. I was using the Glide dental floss for years, but my new dental hygienist told me it slides over rather than really getting the plaque off as she vigorously picked the tarter on my teeth. Since I have been using the Dr. Tung dental floss, the hygienist complimented me on how good my teeth looked in terms of tarter build up and her scraping was a lot faster this time. I also asked for tips on better flossing. You are supposed to slide the floss down along the side of one tooth and a little under the gum line and then over to the other tooth and down close to the gum line and back up the other tooth. For many years, I though just sliding the floss down between my teeth was enough. I have a gap between crowns, and sometimes I have to use this floss a few times to get all the food out. For tight teeth, sometimes, the strands can unravel but for the most part they dont break and get stuck like the Reach scrubby kind (the plastic one that can break off between your teeth). People have complained about the cardboard packaging, and it getting wet and disintegrating. I try to keep the cardboard box in a little basket above the sink or far enough away that it does not get wet. I have kept the old Dr. Tung plastic dispenser in case I need it.

When I first ordered this I was so happy to have a gentle floss that was comfortable to use but didn’t throw particle bits all over the place. This is comparable to Reaches gentle care they discontinued but much better I think. My complaint is the new packaging. It’s flimsy cardboard. The first one I received was in a plastic container like most floss comes. Please go back to the plastic container!!

After reading the negative reviews, I didnt think I would like them. So I ordered the minimum amount and I am happy with my purchase. Yes it is not in a plastic case but I am happy with the case and the floss. Thanks!!!

My dental hygienist suggested Dr Tungs floss because I have crowns that shred regular floss. I must admit my crowns shred the Dr Tungs floss too. It is made of very fine fibers held together by bees wax. I cant blame the floss since the problem is the crowns. The flavor is interesting. Pleasent but not minty. It does a good job of cleaning as long as it does not get hung up on your dental work.

Dr Tung’s Smart Floss is terrific, but the new recyclable cardboard container is a bit odd and tricky to use … at least for me.

Seems like the quality on everything has slipped these days. First off: the new packaging is horrible. The old plastic container was great, but these new paper things are awful. I understand the need to be environmentally friendly, but these new packages are just cheap. Secondly: I have tight spaces between my teeth, but never had a problem with floss shredding and getting caught between my teeth until this last purchase. It get caught every single time. The strand breaks down much faster than it used to. QC seems to have gone out the window. Thirdly: Its still the same price as it was. A worse product for the same price. Id pay a bit more for better QC.

This expandable floss was recommended by my hygienist 4+ years ago and I have used it faithfully every since. Gently gets the gunk out between teeth and I like the soft cinnamon like flavor. Dr Tung’s floss gets the job done. No bleeding when I floss and it easy to place and glide the floss between teeth. Thanks for less packaging. More floss fits in a medicine cabinet, purse, etc. This floss works well!
