Its 7 inches long, 2in at its widest, just bulky. Also hate that it takes a hard to find flat battery that I otherwise have no use for, so Im annoyed that I have to keep those in stock just for this. On the plus side, they did provide 2 spares (3 total). Minus 1 star for making battery management unnecessarily difficult. This thing is big enough for AA, so Im baffled at the choice of batteries when AAA would fit with plenty of room to spare and are common in all households. That all said, it sits in my kitchen drawer, so the size doesnt bother me, but worth noting it if you plan to carry around in a commercial setting. Love that the on/off is the probes position (no switches or buttons to power) and that it has a light you press to turn on (did I mention the weird batteries, best to make them last). If there was a competitor that offered the same thing but with common batteries, Id return this, but since this is all I could find and its otherwise perfect... I recommend.

It arrived very quickly and unharmed. I almost did not give it 5 stars for the following two reasons: 1. It proves my wife right about how our 4 Trane thermostats are simply lying to us by overestimating how warm it truly is in our mega mansion with 30 foot ceilings. Right out of the box and turning it on, just moving it from room to room showed very accurate ambient temps that just did not jive with the thermostats. I tend to believe this thing vs my 9 year old thermostats. 2. it is astoundingly accurate for meat, fish and chicken. And it is just really easy to use. It came with anice chart for all types of foods and it has been very useful. I will not dwell on how much its going to cost me to replace all the thermostats here as described above. After all, that probably is my wifes fault....

I only use a meat thermometer for chicken thighs these days, but this is PERFECT. Easy to use, easy to read, faster than fast. My ancient inherited MT finally just fell apart and I bought this to replace. Actually feel like I should do it justice by cooking more !

works really well. super happy with product. Does what I want it to do, plus who doesnt love black and the fact its magnetic if I want to stick it somewhere in the kitchen :) great job guys
