Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD, up to 560MB/s - CT1000MX500SSD1

Installation was easy to install on my Acer Travelmate B117-M since it had an open slot. The reason I installed the MX500 was that the Acer had a ( fixed 32gb emmc ) drive.

I went from a 500GB HDD to this SSD drive. I used the new 8 version of Macrium Reflect to clone. Very intuitive to use. Replaced my very enlarged battery at same time as it warped my keyboard. I have HP 360 M3-U001dx. Tried this instead of Samsung SSD because of the price difference. Ive been successful before with hard drive upgrades and troubles with others. This went very smoothly. Im not into gaming, just a quite and fast running laptop.

I really liked the product for one week it worked, I installed it as an upgrade from my previous HDD and loved its superior speed. but after a week it started malfunctioning, crashing at the boot and etc. would totally recommend this product if not for my problem.

I had once installed Ubuntu onto my PC and failed to remove its EFI partition whenever I reverted my computer to a purely Windows machine. This apparently caused the computer to look for the Linux boot files anytime I tried booting it up. This happened both with the new and old SSDs. Wound up having to create a recovery drive with one of my spare USBs so I could remove the stray Linux EFI partition.
