Used it to identify and tag 7 cable runs in about 10 minutes. It did take a minute or two to realize there are two pieces that are screwed into the end...both the battery compartment and the piece making the audible noise. Once I saw that it was very easy to use.

I find it totally amazing that a product like this comes with absolutely no instructions. Not even a URL to go to. To be fair, the product seems to work OK, but it may do even more than sound a tone when detecting continuity. I have no way of knowing. Please, a simple one page cheat sheet can’t be too much to ask.

This is the basic pocket toner that I have used for years. Great build. Made of all metal.

This came with absolutely no instructions. Took a few minutes to realize that the sounder was screwed on to the bottom and that there was another piece that had to be unscrewed to open the battery compartment. I took a short piece of known good coax and attached the sounder to one end and the tester to the other. Got a loud tone signal and a red light. Without any instructions, I don t know what the red light means. What indication do I get if there is a short? 3 stars for low price and at least tests continuity. Cant tell if it tests shorts or not.

Being a novice at cabling it took me a little bit to get the hang of how best to use this tool but Im glad I got it. I bought a 5 year old house and the original owners (and cable company) only added connectors and used 2 of the 10 cables in the basement. This tool saved the day and I was able to trace the rest, label, and add connectors to the raw cables. Glad I was able to find this helpful tool.

I bought this so I could trace my lines from my old outside antenna when i cancelled my cable service. It works great. Once i figured out what to put where I found the right cables. It would have been nice to include some simple instructions.

I have a bunch of Coax cable in a bifg distribution box in the wall. Every room of the house is cbled , but not one cable was marked/tagged. This tool allowed me to do the job quickly and easily at a very reasonable price.. I love it.

Needed something to identify our new comstruction cable wiring. Pulled this out of package, inserted supplied battery, hooked it up to room jack and headed to the basement. 2nd stripped coax wire provided the tone needed! Done. Took me 2 mins to stip and ID the wire I needed! You do need to have an exposed copper center wire for it to work.
