Not much to write. The tool was simple to use and it works perfectly as described. Thanks!

There should be a special hell for installers who do not label coax cable! There were 7 cables coming out of my attic to a splitter, and I had no clue which went to a particular room. This handy gadget quickly solved the mystery for me; screw the tone piece on one end and apply the piece with the battery to the other end of the cable. If you hear a loud tone, label that cable right now! If not, keep testing until you find the correct cable. Its one of those items you may only need once in your lifetime, so I was glad the price was reasonable.

First impressions it looks a little cheap not worth the $20. Doesn’t come with instructions on how to use it but if you have a brain you can figure it out in like five seconds. But works well for short cable runs haven’t had a chance for a long cable runs update later.

I purchased a home that has multiple coax installs. Some active, some not. Unfortunately as they disappear into attic, eaves, walls etc I didn’t know where they went to. Using this helped me identify them easily. I then marked for future reference. Having spent 40 years in communications gave me the knowledge to look for this tool.

How to use unclear- had to call tech support, they e-mailed me instructions, and it worked fine. The email itself was a little unclear but I eventually figured it out.

I usually use a Klein scout to tone/test coax but this tool comes in handy for toneing wires quickly. The press on connection makes it a breeze to click through multiple wires to find the one your looking for. It doesnt replace a full blown tester/generated but at the price its worth adding to your tool bag.

once you get it apart its a breeze. had to use plyers to get the end loose from the tester.

This came with absolutely no instructions. Took a few minutes to realize that the sounder was screwed on to the bottom and that there was another piece that had to be unscrewed to open the battery compartment. I took a short piece of known good coax and attached the sounder to one end and the tester to the other. Got a loud tone signal and a red light. Without any instructions, I don t know what the red light means. What indication do I get if there is a short? 3 stars for low price and at least tests continuity. Cant tell if it tests shorts or not.
