Updated Review December 1, 2017 --- Oh no! 2 packages came in normal Custom and the other 2 packages were in the tiny pieces! The tiny pieces do not absorb well at all and cause a huge mess. My guinea pig has also gotten sick, probably from the wet bedding. I will be buying from Petco.com from now on. FYI, Chewy.com does not carry Custom in White. It came in large pieces. ---- July 2017 Review This is not at all the product Ive been ordering for the past two years. I buy it because it comes in large pieces. This bag came in tiny pieces and has already caused a big mess. Its not absorbent and not 25% larger pieces as described in the product description. My guinea pig and I are not impressed!

I thought this deal was too good to be true, and I was right. This cheap bedding resulted in giving mites to my hedgehog — he hasn’t had any contact with other hedgehogs or any other vehicle for mites. Do not buy this!!

It is a great price for the amount you get, but I did notice the cage smelled within a couple of days when I replaced the bedding with this.

The custom bedding is decent, absorbs most of the smell, easier to clean, but nothing like they used to make, where the pieces were already big to begin with. Unfortunately, well take what we can get, this is probably one of the better beddings in my opinion, but its whatever works for your own pets. This is my third purchase of the custom bedding, however, this is where the problems begin, after clicking reorder on the the Custom bedding for the product with 25% bigger pieces, I noticed they had raised the price by $4. Sure, I get it, rather than struggling alongside others in the pandemic, they rather increase their margins to match the increased cost of logistics so they can continue making the same (or more) profits than before the pandemic. Like I said, I get it, youre a business, you want money, congrats on your profit, but at least send me the right product, I need the bedding for my pets, so Im forced to use this in the meantime, there isnt even an option to get a refund.

My bunny (Flower) absolutely loved this bedding!! I originally had bought her pine bedding which caused lots of allergies. Then I bought a small pack of carefresh white bedding at the store and she liked it so I decided to buy the large quality of natural on here and she absolutely loved it!! It also makes cleanup a lot easier for me.

Very absorbent and the guinea pigs love it, but it doesn’t do a great job combating their smelly stankiness.

I use this in my mice’s cage. It is long lasting and makes cage cleaning an easier process. It’s soft but also sturdy. My mice are able to create tunnels through it which they enjoy.

I purchased this because it was a really good price for the amount and dye free which I thought was a bonus. From the outside of the bag there wasnt any visible dust, not even at the bottom. When adding to the cage however it was a cloud of dust that had to settle. Not sure I like this for my gerbil. I have purchased the colored care fresh and didnt have this issue at all, no dust but the natural has a lot, every cage change. Do not recommend, I will not purchase again.
