The printer itself is fantastic but the software is a high maintenance mess. If you do any kind of windows update (even automatic ones), you will have to do an update with your brother software and it is a pain in the backside. Its not one simple, idiot-proof download. Each time Ive had to call brother tech support and they walk me through a series of delete this... click this.. now do this... and it has become clear to me that its cheaper to provide call support vs. spending money to make their software user friendly. If their software was as good as the printer, I would give them 5 stars and tell you to buy this product, but Im on Amazon today looking for a competing product out of frustration.

The printer works, and does whats its supposed to do, but the software is a pain. I have to re-install the software each time I restart my computer!

Love this label maker! Not too big that it cant fit on my desk at home. I use it mostly for an at-home business as well as some personal uses. The label rolls are so easy to put in ... they just drop into place. I keep several sizes lined up next to the printer for easy access. It is also great that you never need ink, just refill the tape. Everything prints clearly, unlike another label maker I was previously using. And the labels really stick, unlike the same former label maker I was using. This is everything I could ask for. Except maybe a wireless aspect, but I wasnt willing to go the extra money for that right now.

Works well bought it to comply with Amazons FBA specification. I did notice that lines in a barcode can be thinner than expect unless a label of sufficient length is used. I found I needed to use a continuous length tape and have the printer cut each label to 3 to make a product label with a nice barcode. Oddly, longer is not better a 3.5 label made the barcode worse. Using continuous length tape lets you select the length that works for your situation.

The bare minimum of a product is to basically do what it says. And it does, it prints labels. But any label printer prints labels. The software which comes with it is atrocious, though. Utterly terrible. I ultimately got it to do what I want, but even though I save the profiles, I dare not quit and reopen them- as they will open up differently than saved. The text size randomly changes in the app, it will print beyond the borders of the label, it will sometimes inexplicably adjust spaces and margins... and sometimes wont. If it werent for the software, Id give it 4 stars. But in the age of countless apps written by 13 year olds, the software that is supplied with this printer is totally unacceptable. Update- Looks like I was mistaken with my original review of two stars. That was overly generous. The software is even worse than first thought. Things were humming along until I needed a paper change... then everything changed. Again, even though I had the same files open that I was using for the previous roll, it no longer printed correctly. Now Im not sure if I can get it to do what it has been doing. Its that bad. Good luck!

This Brother QL-700 label printer is indeed nice and fast - once you install its application mind you. If youre only using the one built into the printer, its as slow as can be. So install the application and be surprised.

Pure disappointment - This poor quality printer only works with their poor quality software. The Brother company is unwilling or unable to integrate their products to work with something as as simple as a web browser....thats right folks...unless youre planning on printing from Brothers 1990s P-Touch software (and I truly mean this baby has that classic windows 98 interface) Spend the extra money for a ZEBRA printer and save yourself a lifetime of hassle.....or buy this and basically purchase a fun problem with no solution.

We use this to label a lot of totes in our house, name tags for Girl Scout outings, and for many different labeling projects for our business. Easy to use and learn!
