did not work properly with my desk computer

The product received dint work at all, Brother Industries not ready to Replace or help . Just never buy Brother Industries Product.

Exactly what I needed.

The printer itself is fantastic but the software is a high maintenance mess. If you do any kind of windows update (even automatic ones), you will have to do an update with your brother software and it is a pain in the backside. Its not one simple, idiot-proof download. Each time Ive had to call brother tech support and they walk me through a series of delete this... click this.. now do this... and it has become clear to me that its cheaper to provide call support vs. spending money to make their software user friendly. If their software was as good as the printer, I would give them 5 stars and tell you to buy this product, but Im on Amazon today looking for a competing product out of frustration.

Simple to set up and easy to use. When you start it up a disk pops up with all the printing software ready to go.

fast easy install

This is a really good label printer. I bought the Seiko first and did not like it - too complicated and the characters were not very distinct on the labels. This Brother is very easy to set up. It loads basic software just by hooking up the USB. I have not loaded the more expansive software that comes with the disk - I dont need all of that. I do two things with this in my professional office - print address labels for legal size envelopes and print file folder labels. I have found that the standard address labels (DK-1201) will accomplish both purposes without having to change rolls. It is fast and the print quality is really good. I no longer have to burn up my laser printer feeding envelopes throught it. This machine is larger than the others, but the quality trumps the size for me.

To print ONE label....if I am lucky, I have to shut down and restart my computer.....I might get one label then. My computer will not recognize it as a printer, only a storage drive. Cannot use the extra software that is downloadable. Tried it on 3 different computers. Wasted money :(
