Nice setup but it doesn’t put out enough heat for the specified tank size, I would recommend doubling them up or buying the one for twice as big of an aquarium.

I do like this thermostat but it doesnt go high enough for some applications. I believe it only goes up to 108 and I need more than that when trying to go through thicker layers of substrate.

I bought this to create a 100F warming chamber for yogurt making. I put the heater and probe into an insulated container. The probe and heater were separated by 12 inches. The probe is near the top of the container, and the pad is on the bottom. The starting temperature was 65F and the thermostat was set for a target of 100F. Temperature rose slowly and predictably until the temperature reached 90. Then the indicator continued to show a temperature rise, at a high rate of change. When it reached the maximum, the display shifted to error E2. I checked the container and it was barely warm. The heating pad was also barely warm. I removed the probe and applied ice to cool it down, but the E2 would not clear after several power resets. Second test: I set the target temperature to 95F. This time I put a known reliable thermometer in the case. As before, at first the temperature reading rose slowly but then it passed 95F and rapidly headed into another E2 error. The independent thermostat indicated that the temperature had never risen past 71F. As other 1 level reviewers posted, some of these just do not work. I am returning this and buying a simpler mechanical thermostat.

I love this mat so much I purchased two, one for my hermit crab tank and one for my snakes tank. The mat works well for the price along with the temp reader. I love that you can hang it on the wall. My only CON is it doesn’t reach the temp I’m aiming for in my hermit crab tank, I often have to set it higher than what temp is needed for my hermit crabs. I have yet to figure out what I’m doing wrong. But I would definitely recommend though.

My son is currently using this for his water dragon that he picked up the local pet store, not realizing how many additional supplies he was going to need to take care of it. My husband is using this in the bottom of the cage in addition to heat lamps up at the top of the cage. The water dragon doesn’t seem to spend much time at the bottom, where this is located, but that could be because it is a rare occasion that I’m in the room and see it.

This is getting a lot crap from users not knowing how it’s supposed to work. It’s not going to heat up the entire tank or tub. You have to use an infrared laser thermometer to check the spot and see if it’s up to temp. Not what the thermostat says. Then you’ll know if you have to bring the setting up or down. It’s unfair to bash a product without knowing how to use it properly. Also add the probe to the inside of the tank while the mat is placed outside. Like I said use a laser thermometer to check. If the thermostat is set to 90 and the area is at 85 then up the setting a bit and check it to see. I have to set mine at 95 to have the warm hide spot at 90. Love the product works great will definitely buy more.

This product sticks well, but doesn’t produce much heat. The temperature doesn’t stay up like it’s suppose to. I’ve had it plugged in for 2 hours and the temperature has dropped constantly. Not worth the money.

Product works good but if it werent for me coming on here to read other peoples reviews...I would have never known how to install it. I.e.... usually runs 5 to 8 degrees cooler than what you set... and where to install the probe. And where in the tank it should be. So far it works but I wish the manufacturer would show you how to use their product.
