BISSELL SpotClean Pet Pro Portable Carpet Cleaner, 2458, Grapevine Purple, Black

While none of the Bissell portables heat water, the tank is sturdy enough to hold hot water. My old Bissell Spot Bot had a cracked hose after ten years. So far I used the new one to extract deer blood out of the trunk of my sedan that had spilled on my carpet. It took three tries of applying hot soapy water, scrubbing, and suctioning then allowing it to dry completely each time. But the odor did come out and we can drive our vehicle again without gagging.

This was the 2nd machine i purchased as I couldn’t decide between the Rug doctor model and this one. After owning/using both of them, I ended up returning this one. There are some great features to this machine and there are some big downsides too. PRO’S: Easy to use, easy to scrub, super long cord, GREAT formula (Bissell Pet Pro OXY Urine Eliminator) - this stuff works and cleans well (smells decent too), machine doesn’t kick out that much bad smelling stuff compared to other brands. I like that when it comes to cleaning, the handle is small for your hand (to wrap around it) and you can scrub in a back and forth motion (with some other brands, you can’t do this). CON’S: The lack of suction power is the biggest letdown. While this is stronger then the rest of the machines under this model at 4.9, this is where the Rug Doctor beats it. The Rug Doctor has the strongest suction power out of any machine on the market (it’s at 10). I did a test. I cleaned/sucked up a urine stain on my rug with the Bissell - took me about 20 minutes to clean and suck it up fully (or so i thought). The next day, I went to go touch the spot and it was still noticeably wet. This time I used my Rug Doctor machine over the same spot to see if anything else would be sucked up. THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT of liquid still left over needing to be sucked up! I couldn’t believe it. I spent an additional 10-15minutes sucking up the remainder of what was there w/ my Rug Doctor. The Rug Doctor sucked up the rest of it, and the carpet was dry afterwards. So the suction power on the Bissell is def inferior compared to the Rug Doctor unit but then again the Rug Doctor is at 10 and is going to beat any machine underneath it. OTHERS CONS w/ the Bissell: Everything snaps into place and this is okay but it feels flimsy like it will break or wear soon. It would benefit from either a thicker, sturdier snap or 2 snap mechanisms. The plastic is thin where you attach the scrub brush handle, so if you are heavy handed, it is possible that this is something that could break sooner than later. Better, sturdier design would help prevent this from occurring. The tanks: Both tanks just sit in the unit. They don’t lock in nor snap in. It would be nice if they locked in. They don’t seem to sit flush even when they’re full. It is tricky to empty the dirty water tank. If you don’t remove the top part, the plastic piece will shoot out the top while you empty it. You can remove the top part to empty that tank further but it doesn’t seem to get everything out no matter what method you do. This is something that will eventually gunk up over time as you use it (unless you hose it down outside). I didn’t use the stain trapper tool so i can’t comment on that. It’s not a horrible unit but I returned it because of the lack of suction power compared to my Rug Doctor unit. I need a unit that is going to not only clean the accidents my dogs have, but i need it to SUCK IT AWAY. That’s why I am buying this thing, to suck it away! This doesn’t suck it fully. That’s why i returned it. I want to smell a clean smell, not a urine one.

I paid and received this little cleaner on time, however, the two most important tools, the stain trapper and 6 stair tool were not sent with the cleaner, and one small bottle of cleaner was also missing. Bissell needs to improve their packaging and shipping. To pay over $170 and not receive the most important tools is inexcusable. I had to call Bissell, talk to staff and wait another week to get the tools that were missing. They arrived today and my review is not on how the machine works since I just received the complete unit..

Durability and manageable to carry. I have a bad back so I was worried about carry it around, but it was just the right weight for me to manage. It not only cleaned the new stains my puppy created but it also took out the old stains from my old dog.

I just purchased this carpet cleaner as a Christmas present for myself. I needed something in between my smaller carpet cleaner and my upright carpet cleaner. This is the perfect solution. It picks up medium-sized spots easily and has great suction for liquids. I noticed that it has better suction than the upholstery tool on my upright carpet cleaner. One reason I really like this is the size of the cleaner. It holds more solution and more waste water than the smaller carpet cleaner that I have. It makes it easier to clean up larger spills. For example, I cleaned up a spilled glass of orange juice and it didnt leave a stain at all! I didnt even have to empty the waste water tank once. Another reason I really like this is the ability for the cleaner to get into small spaces. It has a smaller nozzle for corners and edges of carpets. My sister used it on her carpet to clean up a muddy foot print. She said, I couldnt believe how easy it was to get mud out of the corner of my steps! So if youre in the market for a new carpet cleaner, look no further! Dont wait to buy this!

It works well but leaks a little bit. It’s also a very small brush so larger surfaces take longer. Overall, would recommend to clean up small spots

I am a proud mom of a Siamese with a sensitive stomach! Did a little research found out what his allergies are but definitely not in time before there were lots of pet stains to be cleaned up from his vomiting. This carpet cleaner was great in hitting all of the discolored spots! The suction power was good, but you do need to be patient with it to go over and over and over the spot. We appreciate the small handheld easy to carry size of this machine.

Absolutely amazing! We cleaned every inch of carpet in our home, our couch, and our rocking chair in our nursery and they all look brand new and smell fantastic! I truly cannot recommend this product enough.

DO NOT EVER LEAVE IT UNCLEANED - you need to take very very good care of this machine. If you are like me, you will be cleaning up your ten thousandth diarrhea stain from your dog, and you will be too tired to clean it. Then you forget about it for a day. Then you go to use the machine again andddd you need to throw it away and buy a new one. The smell is unbearable, it will literally knock you over. Something to do with the way a vacuum works I guess but the smell just ruins the innerworkings of the machine. Its dead now, you need to buy a new one. Works great though 10/10 no complaints.

So I bought this even thou I have no pets at all. I was just overall tired with my toddlers staining the couch where I had to almost everyday try to rub off the stains. I even vouch like couch coverages and I hated to do so cuz it looked ghetto lol. I was looking into a cleaning machine that would not take up much space in our small apartment but also perform the best. After a lot of hours doing google and YouTube research, this Bissell Pet pro had the best overall reviews. The price is good and I bought it and I’m very happy I did so. Now I don’t worry to much when toddler stains the couch now and then with snacks or beverages. I clean couch like twice a week and less stress in my life. It’s a little noisy but what do you expect from a powerful machine. Just make sure you follow the instructions for how to clean the vacuum after each usage. I read some reviews where the complain the hose rips of. I make sure every time that I clean I don’t force pull the hose. I never let the hose get a chance to stretch at all. I lift up the vacuum if needed to place it closer if and it works nice since the vents are on the sides. Definitely recommend this Bissell model !!!
