BISSELL SpotClean Pet Pro Portable Carpet Cleaner, 2458, Grapevine Purple, Black

It works well, and does(did, will get to that) a good job of getting stains from my dog out of carpets. Only real downside is you have to scrub at it a bit and the hose can be annoying to clean. However, if you are going to spend $170 anyway for a piece of equipment like this, do yourself a huge favor and spend the extra $10 to get the SpotBot. It has all the functionality of this machine PLUS an automated scrubber. No more manual anything. You literally just set the machine on the spot, push a button, and wait for it to beep, makes cleaning up small spots basically zero effort, no getting down on your knees, no scrubbing. This machine does exactly what it’s supposed to but I could never recommend when that’s just $10 more.

I paid and received this little cleaner on time, however, the two most important tools, the stain trapper and 6 stair tool were not sent with the cleaner, and one small bottle of cleaner was also missing. Bissell needs to improve their packaging and shipping. To pay over $170 and not receive the most important tools is inexcusable. I had to call Bissell, talk to staff and wait another week to get the tools that were missing. They arrived today and my review is not on how the machine works since I just received the complete unit..

First I have to said that this machine is amazing and work perfect. This is my history: My 2017 car was stained by a mediocre technician who suppose to install the glass tint of my car without damage my car seats. He stained 3 seats so I was searching a place to clean my car interior. I found a place and they quote $125 for clean the seats. So I went to Amazon and found this beast machine. Yesterday I clean my seats and the y look extremely great. For $45 more I get this machine and I can do the job saving ($125) every time I need to clean my car seats. It took out a grease stain so it work perfect. NOTE: Im not using for pets stain right now. Ok, now Im going to talk about quality. This machine is fragile because for the price you cant get any better so be careful when you use it, is plastic but have a good extracting power. Ok, now Im going to talk a good method to use the machine. Never use the brush in the wand to scrub the textile. That brush is weak and dont make a good cleaning alone. This is what I did every time I clean a textile: 1) Fill the machine with water WITHOUT solution cleaning. 2) Take a atomizer bottler and make the solution mix there. I use the BISSELL solution and work great. (I dont use the one that came with the machine because is for pets spotting cleaning. 3) Use vacuum cleaner before use the extraction machine. Please spend time in the textile to take out all the dust and dirt that you can. (This is one of the most import part when you clean a textile with extraction) 4) Spray the textile with the atomizer and use a medium brush (horse hair the best) to clean the area. DO NOT spray a too much solution because the area get too wet. Repeat this process two time. 5) Use the wand and spray clean water on the textile and extract. Again, do not spray too much water on the textile. Make the extraction until you dont see water/solution in the clear wand cover. Repeat this process as need it. After that use a dryer to dry off the wet areas. Regards

This is a very good carpet-upholstery cleaner and works as a decent wet vac. I wish they included one different oxy cleaner. I got two pet stain cleaner bottles. The clean water tank has a design flaw like all other cleaners. That is the opening is a small round cap that is only an inch wide and it takes forever to dry out the tank once you finish. Bissell is one of the few manufactures that make a wide variety of replacement parts (hoses, tanks, brushes) The machine is definitely on the loud side but it has good suction and really gets almost all the liquid up. It is not the cheapest machine but I would say it is worth the money.

This was the 2nd machine i purchased as I couldn’t decide between the Rug doctor model and this one. After owning/using both of them, I ended up returning this one. There are some great features to this machine and there are some big downsides too. PRO’S: Easy to use, easy to scrub, super long cord, GREAT formula (Bissell Pet Pro OXY Urine Eliminator) - this stuff works and cleans well (smells decent too), machine doesn’t kick out that much bad smelling stuff compared to other brands. I like that when it comes to cleaning, the handle is small for your hand (to wrap around it) and you can scrub in a back and forth motion (with some other brands, you can’t do this). CON’S: The lack of suction power is the biggest letdown. While this is stronger then the rest of the machines under this model at 4.9, this is where the Rug Doctor beats it. The Rug Doctor has the strongest suction power out of any machine on the market (it’s at 10). I did a test. I cleaned/sucked up a urine stain on my rug with the Bissell - took me about 20 minutes to clean and suck it up fully (or so i thought). The next day, I went to go touch the spot and it was still noticeably wet. This time I used my Rug Doctor machine over the same spot to see if anything else would be sucked up. THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT of liquid still left over needing to be sucked up! I couldn’t believe it. I spent an additional 10-15minutes sucking up the remainder of what was there w/ my Rug Doctor. The Rug Doctor sucked up the rest of it, and the carpet was dry afterwards. So the suction power on the Bissell is def inferior compared to the Rug Doctor unit but then again the Rug Doctor is at 10 and is going to beat any machine underneath it. OTHERS CONS w/ the Bissell: Everything snaps into place and this is okay but it feels flimsy like it will break or wear soon. It would benefit from either a thicker, sturdier snap or 2 snap mechanisms. The plastic is thin where you attach the scrub brush handle, so if you are heavy handed, it is possible that this is something that could break sooner than later. Better, sturdier design would help prevent this from occurring. The tanks: Both tanks just sit in the unit. They don’t lock in nor snap in. It would be nice if they locked in. They don’t seem to sit flush even when they’re full. It is tricky to empty the dirty water tank. If you don’t remove the top part, the plastic piece will shoot out the top while you empty it. You can remove the top part to empty that tank further but it doesn’t seem to get everything out no matter what method you do. This is something that will eventually gunk up over time as you use it (unless you hose it down outside). I didn’t use the stain trapper tool so i can’t comment on that. It’s not a horrible unit but I returned it because of the lack of suction power compared to my Rug Doctor unit. I need a unit that is going to not only clean the accidents my dogs have, but i need it to SUCK IT AWAY. That’s why I am buying this thing, to suck it away! This doesn’t suck it fully. That’s why i returned it. I want to smell a clean smell, not a urine one.
