Pros: - 3 inputs: VGA, HDMI, DP - has speakers - Ambient light sensor - VESA 100 - Narrow bezel - Stand with cable management - Bright IPS and nice colors - Good OSD with DDC/CI (this is when you can adjust settings via software, in addition to the monitor buttons) Cons: - Only 60 Hz - Matte finish, not glossy (just my personal taste, although some people might find this a plus) Generally good feature set compared to similarly priced models. Honestly I had in mind other monitors but they were either out of stock or had issues with the connector locations when mounting to VESA 75 (meaning the mount plate on my VESA 100/75 dual monitor stand would block the connectors on a VESA 75 monitor, specifically the Philips 246E9QDSB). In any case, I settled for this one and cant complain. Im sure you can find others at this price range just as good or perhaps trading off features such as 75 Hz but only with two inputs for example. Or maybe no IPS or not VESA compatible. I use this for basic desktop applications, work, etc. Not a gaming monitor, although if you are not a hardcore gamer you may get away with this. If you have an nVidia card you can set the RGB dynamic range from 16-235 to 0-255. This means that youll use the full color gamut the monitor can handle and get (marginally) better contrast and more colors. Not a massive noticeable improvement, but its there. Image is pretty good and even (not much backlight bleed). The monitor is 60 Hz out of the box but I overclocked it to 75 Hz using the nVidia control panel. You can verify your refresh rate. I searched online for hz checker and used www.testufo.com. I confirmed the before and after refresh and it works fine. Do it at your own risk as I dont know anything about overclocking monitor refresh rate. The last thing Im gonna say is not necessarily specific to this monitor, but it grinds my gears that its so hard to find a gloss finish monitor this days. Most are matte finish. I personally prefer gloss because the colors tend to be more vivid. Reflections dont bother me as much as the washed out color effect you get on a matte monitor.

11-3-2020 --I had email and phone conversation with BenQ Customer support. None of their recommendations fixed the issue, which is that the screen goes black for 2 seconds 20X -40X a day. This monitor is used for Work, so in addition to being irritating, the situation is also disruptive, as I work from home like so many today, and in front of my monitor from 8am to 6pm. After none of the recommendations worked, they asked me to ship back the monitor in the original box - yeah, like i kept that box. I have NEVER in 20 years had this issue with a monitor. So the next option required, pack monitor up in a box so that no damage occurs during shipping, otherwise you are responsible for damage. They did send RMA slip. I suggested that they ship me a new replacement monitor (same model) and I would then ship back the current dysfunctional unit in that monitor packing box as an exchange. The ONLY option is to be without a monitor for who-knows-how-long and ship back to BenQ. I need a monitor of some type to do my job, so it is challenging to ship this unit back, and wait indefinitely for another monitor. (no timeline was given for how long to determine issue, etc) . If you choose to buy BenQ and do not get a lemon, you are in good shape. But if you do get a lemon, the customer service options are TERRIBLE. For now, I am going to make-do until I can afford to buy another monitor from a different company than #BenQ *** If I could give a negative star rating, I would. Since my review, the issue is getting worse. I work from home, and on my monitor 8 hours a day. The monitor goes blank 5X an hour. 40X a day. I have checked every connection, changed the setup, etc. I bought this expensive monitor to replace an $80 17in that I had for 5 years, and never a problem. UNBELIEVABLY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!! For some reason, the screen goes black for about 1-2 seconds about constantly. Suggestions are to check for loose connections. That is not the issue but the only explanation or fixes given for constant screen issues. Very annoying since I use this monitor for work, and during a presentation the black screen is incredible disruptive. I have never had other cheaper monitors to hav this issue. I cannot recommend BenQ.

This is the 4th 27 BenQ monitor I have ordered. I purchased two for my subordinates at an old job and 2 for myself in my new work-from-home position. They have proven to be reliable monitors though I THOUGHT I was going to have problems with this last one as it didnt power-up initially. However, it did and has continued to work seamlessly as the others have. The price is great for a large hunk of screen real estate. This monitor has great sound even without external speakers. It has both HDMI and VGA inputs to suit your needs. No USB input for an external USB camera but your computer should suffice. All in all, I would definitely buy a BenQ again, a name not many know but is a great buy for sure!

The first thing that my wife noticed as I pulled it out of the box was how little light reflected off the screen. And when we hooked it up the image quality was pretty darn great. I was pretty happy with how bright it was and then the next day, thinking it was a bit too bright for my early A.M. wake up I found out it was only at 30%. I can play World of Warcraft in the middle of the day and see the darkest of details in the game. Its amazing! And the blue light filter on it is a god send of technology, no more dry aching eyes and its easy to pull away and see the damn room in the dark. I can see why it sold out so quickly when we first got it. We had to wait a bit for my wife to get her own monitor as well.

I returned this monitor due to the size. The fault was mine because I didnt fully comprehend how large it would be. I had envisioned a monitor half again larger. From now on, for something like that, I will buy on site rather than through the internet.

I got this monitor for eye protection as it has less blue light. It’s great! Very nice screen size & color. Delivered quickly & packaged well.

As a value monitor, I think its $20 more expensive than it should be. That said, its still not too expensive for a solid monitor that will hopefully last a long time and perform basic functions with predictable efficiency. Good response time, although I dont use this for gaming. I still think a good response time is needed for anything else you might want to do. As for the speakers, they are abysmal. Even on their loudest setting, its not much more than a faint, tinny echo. Do not come into this monitor hoping for an all-in-one experience when it comes to sound. If you intend for this to replace actual speakers, youll be disappointed.

Good: -Its noticablly more colorful than traditional TN LED monitors -LIghtweight ultra slim bezel is sharp looking. -Blue light and zero flicker -Vesa mountable (which I use a dual monitor set -up) -I personally havent seen any limitations in lag or sloppy response times yet. I have my settings maxed in the games I play. BenQ has a three year warranty on there screens. Bad: -Not nearly as bright as traditional monitors -IPS screens in general and this one very much bleeds light out of the corners. -Trade of slim bezel smooth looking design for weakness and the potential of dust getting under the screen while cleaning -Speakers are awful but what can you expect. For who it was bought for its having sound where they dont now. My goal was to set up a dual monitor situation for my home office. So I wanted to have a matching set for ease of use and matching the screen settings. So I will be buying a second one to finish the pair. So even though this will be used on my business center, I first hooked it up to my gaming rig and did a little bit of photo rendering to see if I like the screen. I would use this with confidence for gaming , especially for working with photos. Games and pictures look much more vivid. I think the biggest drawback is how dark it appears in a dark room. I am still working with the settings a bit. I watched a Kong skull island on here, to test the special effects scenes, the bleeding on a wide screen with the black bars on top and bottom really, really stick out. You can definitely see corner bleeding. That being said the quality of the video was great, so it was a trade off. I would not watch TV on here much, or at least without getting some speakers anyway. I wanted to keep the price down and still get a quality product, I feel this was good fit.
