Id like to start by saying that these work. It does its intended job just fine. The motor is a little weak (stops when barely touching the nail) but you also wouldnt want it to be so powerful that it doesnt stop and goes too deep too quick. So for babies it is perfect, just takes a little while to get done. Me personally, I used it on my babys finger nails one time, and I probably wont again. Ill come back to why in just a sec. I do still use them for his teeny tiny almost non existent toe nails that are somehow the sharpest little daggers in existence. I file them down so he cant tear my skin to shreds anymore. Back to why I dont use them on his finger nails.... You can file the nails just fine, problem being you cant really file the very corners on each side of the fingernail so you end up with a nail that is essentially shaped like a half moon that is sharper than before you filed the nail down. So make your own judgement if its worth it or not. I dont regret the purchase by no means, but it wasnt necessarily worth getting it either.

It gets the job don’t but you have to be very delicate or it’ll shut off. Makes it difficult. Once you perfect that it’s decent.

I think most parents fear cutting their newborn and young babys nails. They are so thin and so close to the skin. After a few times, I was good at it. One day, my baby girl moved suddenly and I clipped her little thumb. That was traumatic for me. I have been using this file since then. My baby girl is 9 months now, and she just sits in my lap and watches Little Baby Bum while I file her nails down. It is so gentle she can touch it. I cannot say enough good things about this product. I wish I would have known about it sooner, and it is definitely a must have for babies. It has many different settings and a light to see up close. You also have a choice of file strength. You have to get a feel for it, but it doesnt take long to get used to it. I HIGHLY Recommend.

People recommended this to me pre-baby, and I thought this was such a gimmicky waste of money. Ill just use a cheaper manual nail file! I thought. We have baby nail clippers, I said to myself. Lol. The manual nail files barely worked to begin with, and did nothing after about 3 uses, and the nail clippers are terrifying on such tiny nails. This is perfect, and 100% worth the money. We will use it for years-- I even use it on myself now.

My daughter (1 year old) started fighting me with clipping her nails, after one was clipped a little too short. I decided to look up an alternative and found this gadget. At first she was skeptical about it, but after I let her try it on me it worked perfectly! Now its no issue filing her nails and no more sharp edges on her nails to cut herself or others.

I thought it was going to be a great tool for a 4 month old baby but it moves to fast and I was scared that it was going to hurt the babies nails/finger when I tried to file them. The babies nails are thin and it felt like it was going to take the whole nail off.

This is very quiet, and very efficient! I just used this on my 3 day old sons nails while he slept! That is always one of the more challenging things to do while they are so little! I definitely recommend this product!
