Usually I use my T.V for all my gaming, but I decided to branch out and buy a gaming monitor. After some long research, I settled on the VG27AQ. Package was delivered timely, and the set up was easy. As you can see from the pics, the colors pop vibrantly! Luminance and Ray Tracing are bright and reflective. No dead pixels, no damage. The HDR works very well with the PS5, just know that the dark areas are DARK. Plus, playing GTA omline, there was a tad bit of shadowing while driving fast, but its hardly noticeable. The only High Framerate (120 Htz/FPS) game I have is G.O.W: Ragnarok. In the PS5 settings, put 120htz option on automatic, and make aure you turn on high frame rate mode in the in-game settings. Playing Quality mode at 120 frames is an AMAZING experience. I see why PC users gloat so much. Lol. I know there are way more advanced and higher def monitors out there, but this one works great for me. If anything changes or things start to go awry, Ill update promptly.

If you only use this for gaming it will be fine, but for watching movies its horrible, every time there is a black background scene, that black looks white and thats pretty annoying.

I never write reviews usually, but I had to in this instance. This is a premium monitor and was delivered (packaging was fine) with seven dead pixels. One of which is in the center of the monitor. Unacceptable. Im getting a replacement from Amazon luckily, and will update the post when I review it. In terms of the color, refresh rate, and features, it seems like a good quality monitor. Unfortunately that cannot be really assessed when a product ships defective. Update: Luckily, Amazon replaced the monitor pretty quickly and I have a new one. So far there seems to be one muddy pixel in the corner, but I dont know if theyre going to do a better job than that, so I will keep it. Pros: - 144hz is good. Havent tried overclocking to 165. - The colors are pretty rich and deep. I would suggest playing with the color, contrast, sharpness settings, and factory settings. - Once configured, I experience no ghosting/tearing/etc while playing modern FPSs at 120-144hz. The picture is pretty at 1440. - The ability to adjust the monitor up, down, and vertical is a nice feature. - Many people said the DisplayPort cable did not work for them - mine worked right out of the box. Cons: - Im not so sure about the long-term quality of these monitors if I received two with dead/muddy pixels on arrival. - The IPS burn (if you have an all-black/dark screen, you will see spotlights glowing on the corners of the monitor). Its common for IPS monitors, but this is pretty noticeable. - It comes with speakers, but theyre very low quality. At 100%, most laptops are even louder. Conclusion: 3.5/5 This product is fine for its Black Friday price. I wouldnt have paid full retail ($400) for it. If you can get it on a good sale, Id say go for it. Remember that you must use the display port cable and G-Sync if you want to get the most out of the monitor.

So firstly, Amazon has many of these TUF monitors grouped in the same family of products despite the fact they use different technologies and features. It looks as if they corrected this somewhat since I bought this, but there are still some items mixed up in the same family of TUF series monitors. I originally got the VG32VQ1B and had to return that because it was a VA panel. I then got this VG27BQ monitor (which is a TN panel) and have not regretted it since, its awesome. I have a 1070ti and have the ELMB-Sync setup on this monitor for 165Hz refresh rate 0.4ms response time. The low response time is fantastic and great for competitive games. I play Rainbow 6 Siege mainly. Keep in mind with a TN panel you are giving up some color depth that a IPS or VA panel might give you and the ELMB makes it ever so SLIGHTLY darker (it was super dark on the VA panel originally) on this TN panel, but to me the buttery smooth response time is worth it for a game like Siege. Just make sure your video card is G-Sync/Free Sync compatible otherwise youll be limited to 144Hz (still not bad obviously) and a response time of 1ms (also still not terrible) rather than 0.4ms response time (most people probably wouldnt see the difference anyway, only on a very superficial and subconscious level most likely).

There is no RGB on this, which is a serious oversight and unforgiveable. How am I supposed to let people know how awesome my gaming rig is without it? Seriously... but anyway... I do not play pro e-sports or anything. I replaced a B**Q Z*w*e, and this is just as fast response but the refresh is higher (165Hz currently). The G-Sync is nice, I do not see tearing like I used to on other brand monitor occasionally. I generally change the settings in multiplayer games to get at least 165fps and it all still looks beautiful. The colors are a lot more vivid than the other monitor was. You _can_ change this monitor to have all the contrast, darkness revealing, etc. that other monitors do. Watching videos on this is amazing. Its beautiful, and the HDR is lit. I had no idea some of these games popped out like that. The sun is almost blinding when you look at it, and all the other things you want from a great ultra-quality experience. The speakers built-in are really low-end. They are weak, but they do not distort, so theres that. I have them on 100% for windows sounds and such when I dont have my headphones on, and I occasionally do not hear things with just background noise. If you want great audio experience, this is not it. I am not deducting points for this because its a computer monitor and not a TV. The stand does not wobble, does not lean, it is very solid and the panel doesnt shake just from typing on the desk like others have done. the pedestal is adjustable, turns 90 degrees one direction. The bezels are slim, the material does not reflect the screen The Display Port input handles 165Hz no problems at all. Not even the slightest flicker on any occasion. Other brand monitor had issues on the DP with 144Hz and I had to use a nice 4K rated HDMI instead. DP and HDMI on this are awesome! If you put a 4K signal into this monitor, it will accept it and just shrink the display to fit. I did this by accident with the Xbox One X and was quite surprised. It looks nice, but then I set it to 1440p and things are beautiful.

I was running a DELL 2721DFG but just felt like no matter what I did the display was slow, even with overdrive cranked to max, with all the overshoot that caused the display seemed just slow, with artifacts and ghosting. I had always found TN panels to be faster, so with that in mind I grabbed a VG27BQ and I am so happy I did. My experience is on a system with a 5800X, and RTX 3080 running at 2100mhz, playing only Destiny 2, que the jokes about D2 players playing nothing else. Dont throw facts at me as if they are insults! Pros: Much faster than my Nano IPS screen based 2721DGF I was using. Zero ghosting save for insanely quick motions that were just a blur on the DELL If you track a single object as you pan that object stays clear as day. Its honestly amazing to see. MUCH better black levels then IPS can display- REAL SRGB mode that I use most of the time After a calibration with iDisplay Pro the colors are not bad. ELMB Sync works really well, there is some double imaging and a slight dark train on quick moving object or when panning fast, but overall clarity is amazing. I only play Destiny 2, but at least in D2 it works without issue with my framerate between 170 to 140, I could see it having issues below that frame rate though. ELMB Sync does, as others have said, kill the brightness of the screen. If you game in a room were you can turn down the lights its not issue, but if you share a room that is kept bright you might have a problem with it. Lots of options in the menu. I run the overdrive with ELMB sync off at 60, which is the stock setting. With ELMB sync on it uses some form of variable overdrive that works well. G-SYNC works great, without the issues that my 2721DGF had that required disabling and re enabling to fix. Cons: Colors are not as nice as my IPS screen was, but WAY better then my 5 year old Acer TN panel was. Viewing angles are bad compared to IPS, but if you are just gaming they with never effect you as you have to be quite a bit off angle to see them. My first monitor shipped to me had a single bad pixel on the VERY edge of the screen and it only showed when gaming with fast dark to light transitions. I returned it for a replacement that had zero bad pixels of any type. So keep that in mind and do a dead pixel check and use the screen during your return window. I really think the 1ms GTG that IPS screens show on box is so far form how they normally run that its just a lie at this point. This screen has true 1ms GTG, and 0.4ms in a best-case scenario. I even thing the way a IPS screen shows in testing is better than how they run when being gamed on. Keep in mind I am extremely sensitive to frame rate drops, but if you were in the place, I was a curious what a modern TN is like, I say pick a VG27BQ up, if you hate it, you can return it, but I have feeling you will love it like I do. Edit: I have noticed some G-Sync oddness where I need to disable G-Sync, restart and re-enable it or I get some screen tearing. Also reminder to go into Nvidia control center and set V-sync to Fast!

This is truly a nice monitor. I read a lot of reviews on various 27 144hz monitors for about a week before actually buying, but have been eyeing this all year and ultimately came back for it. Prior to this I had a Dell S2417DG which is an amazing 24 1440p 144hz panel, but I knocked it over face down by accident LOL. So much for having that as my secondary. Since getting this set up and calibrated to my liking I have happily moved on. The color accuracy is amazing and being that its the same resolution as before, I get a much larger/clearer display with no change in gaming performance or mouse sensitivity... pretty cool I must say. The ELMB-SYNC is nice, but if you do a little research you will learn that it also has its drawbacks with handling lower than max FPS depending on your refresh rate. Since I have an RTX 2060, im not hitting 165fps on every game so when I dip down to the 80-90 range you can see some slight tearing in high motion gameplay. Thats where its up to the user to decide if its bothersome or not. For me, its very minor. You either keep running at max settings and deal with that, lower the settings to get above 100fps constant, or just turn off ELMB-Sync. It still looks good with G-Sync alone, but when you go from having them both on at high FPS to only one of the two, you can definitely notice the slowdown... I think its called being spoiled lol. But, from what I have read and now witnessed, thats where the divide on this monitor is. Other than that, the build quality is amazing, has a cool cable management door on the back that you have to pull off... feels like its not a door but it is, just takes a lil force to pop off. You get full mobility with tilt, swivel and rotation and the base is very sturdy while not being overly heavy. Its a very classy design that doesnt scream out gamer. All in all, for having an amazing IPS panel, 165hz, G-Sync compatibility and ELMB Sync, low latency, 27 and speakers?? Even if the sound does suck... you can hook it to external devices. This is a steal of a monitor for only $400. My old dell was $450 but that was at the time, a good price.

Pros: No detectible ghosting that I could see in testing or games (with Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync turned OFF!!! IMPORTANT! SEE BELOW!) Very good image quality across the entire 32-inch screen. Crisp and clear. Cons: One dead pixel. Luckily it is in a corner spot where I cant see it unless I lean in very close and look for it. It does not affect my usage and I dont notice it at all but it is worth mentioning as a defect. The color saturation is weird. Reds seem a bit too vibrant and the saturation setting in the monitor menu is greyed out no matter what preset you select. Also some of the presets seem insane. One (MOBA Mode I think it was?) changes everything to be so washed out that I suspect it was added as a joke. I tried for hours to get the colors correct using the monitor settings and finally had to resort to adjusting them in the Nvidia Control Panel and even then reds are still a bit too bright (even with HDR OFF). Ive owned dozens of monitors and Ive never had this much trouble adjusting the colors to normal. Why put an option in the settings (like saturation) and then grey it out? That makes zero sense. This monitor has loads of options but only a handful are actually accessible and not greyed out for no reason. Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync is a disaster. How this god-awful technology ever got approved for production is beyond me. There are very few accessible settings in the menu already that arent greyed out and enabling ELMB greys out almost all of the rest. This is after it dims your brightness down to comical levels and screws up your colors so bad you just laugh. But wait, thats not even the worst part! It also generates its own ghosting in the form of red and blue streaks that follow anything on the screen that is white and moving across a dark background (including the mouse cursor!!!). It is truly horrible and seeing as how I couldnt detect any ghosting with it turned off I have no idea why they would hype it up so much or even create it at all. Its like saying Hey you can run a marathon just fine with these cool new shoes we sell but weve included an option to reduce your weight even more by chopping off your feet. Summary: Do not buy this monitor for the ELMB feature!!! It makes a good monitor very bad and actually makes ghosting FAR WORSE when enabled.

Designed for intense fast-paced games. The Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ is a 27” WQHD gaming IPS display with 1ms (MPRT) response time and blazing 165Hz refresh rate to give you super-smooth game play. The VG27AQ features G-SYNC compatibility and ELMB Sync technology to eliminate screen tearing and ghosting.
