Why would a gamers laptop not have a cd rom...horrible product

i havent had the laptop for even a year (5 months) and its already acting up. wifi i get speeds of 8mbps max and 400 tethered. but my almost 6year old i3 hp gets 300mbps on wifi. i am extremely disappointed with this product and the battery life is terrible,also Amazons tech support is a joke. they are going to refund the cost of the laptop but charge me a 150 restocking fee because i didnt return it with in 30 days. they will sell a charging cord for a phone and give 6month return window but a thousand dollar laptop gets 30days. both Acer and Amazon should be ashamed for putting out such a trash product. shame

It’s done everything that I wanted it for

This gaming laptop has a lot going for it and at this price, its a good deal. Of course there are downsides (it gets hot), but I will go over those later. I am going to try not to get into all the tech specs, because those are easily available, but I will point out the main features and what I thought of them.

I am really happy with this product, I got the promotional 2TB HD with it and after about 2 months it is running strong. I have been playing WoW daily. I also use it for web browsing, playing pandora and watching Hulu & Netflix. Speakers sound good for stock. Fans can get a little loud and battery drops after an hour when the graphics card is running while gaming.

Overall it is a fantastic computer, I am using it for Cyber Security. It does everything I need with the standard specs besides the 2TB SSD I am going to install. The main fuss I have regarding the Predator Helios 300 is the fans are on the bottom of the computer, and the material the device is made of leaves thermal marks of some sort when you rest your hand on it etc.

I recently purchased a gaming laptop that I had to return due to problems to the motherboard so when I started to search for a new one found the Helios 300 model which at the beginning I didnt care much until Acer launched the Helios 300 2018 model which was an instabuy to me.

After a hour or so it says no bootable device. It reboots no problem but its annoying that it shuts off with this error consistently. Ive googled how to fix it but nothing works.

Good for game but not for other purposes it’s too heavy
