Just received mine today to replace an older Acer display that is going on to other uses in my house. Installed the base no problem, hooked it up, no problem and off and running. First thing I noticed is that it is much brighter and crisper than the LCD screen it replaced. I am not an expert on color reproduction and all that. It seemed fine right out of the box. I did some minor tweaking in my NVIDIA control panel to tone down the brightness by about 3% but other than that, nothing. I play an online multiplayer game and I immediately noticed how much smoother this was and everything looked almost new. My old LCD was still a pretty good 5ms monitor, but this one transitions so much better. Other notes: -Using a DVI-D connection to my computer - I have a lot of cables lying around and for me the included VGA cable goes into the electronics recycle bin -This monitor uses a power brick but it is so small, its more like a power mouse -The base is great, my old monitor used to shake when the washing machine went into spin cycle. This one doesnt move a bit. -For the money, if you are looking for a good monitor without a ton of features, just want to plop it on your desk and be done with it, this is a great deal. -This monitor appears to be exclusive to Amazon. -Its a very nice design, very pleasing to the eye. -I have this side-by-side with a very high quality HP display and I think the two are comparable. With my old display, when I switched from one to the other, it looked like going from a shiny new car to an old rusted beater.

I figured I would wait awhile before making this review. Its for the 23.8 inch R240HY bidx I feel I should mention the size because Amazon has this completely stupid policy now of merging reviews for what they think are similar products, so you never know if youre reading the review for the product you actually are researching, or the larger or smaller model with may or may not be similar in reality. In my opinion this monitor has good color quality, blacks are black enough, it can be tuned to be not too bright/blue (although most people seem to love screens as bright and blue as technically feasible). Its great for gaming, the screen looks larger than it is because the bezel is small. Its very thin. No dead pixels (my last 1080p Acer had one stuck red pixel, this was ages ago though). I have hopes it will last longer than my last one because of the LED backlighting. Main complaint is ghosting or trailing when scrolling on websites with dark font and colors that arent white. Theres a site I visit more often than others, and when scrolling the text ghosts pretty bad, its black text on a kind of blue/grey background and the ghosting is basically negative, as in it ghosts light almost white under the black text when scrolling. Hard to explain I suppose but even a literally ancient HP LCD monitor I have from Windows Vista era does not do this. Really griping I suppose and if you want consider this a five star review. I just dont give five stars unless I have no complaints. Acer is always a great value brand if youre willing to consider it might not last forever. Great specs and features for the price as always VESA mount would also be nice, if just so that I could get a second of exact same model for portrait use as a second monitor

Im a professional photographer, I have a BenQ as my main monitor, but I wanted to replace the crappy secondary monitor I had. The size is great. Very thin. Straight out off the box the colors look fantastic. However, compared to my newly calibrated BenQ, the Acer was more yellow. Not sure yet if Ill ever use it for editing, but its great overall.

Straight up: These are not great monitors. But for $100 each? Well, theyre pretty great monitors. Thus my headline. Cost effective is what these monitors are. The picture is a bit on the washed out end of the spectrum and maybe a tiny bit grainy. If youre a gamer, dont even consider thinking about buying these. But if, like me, youre using them in an office setting, theyre just fine. The monitors have virtually no physical adjustment. What Im especially missing is height; I think they sit at least 6 too low for proper ergonomics. I was able to solve this with the tried and true stack of printer paper method. Again, perfectly fine in an average office setting and maybe not so great in your Gamer Man Cave or whatever. Finally, consider that these are fairly low-resolution by todays standards. Again -- office work vs. gaming, watching a movie, or whatever. These things work fine. Setup was a breeze, they do what theyre supposed to do, and I dont regret my purchase one bit. If they were more expensive Id start pulling off more stars, but theyre quite cheap and well worth the tiny investment. If all you need are simple office monitors, you can certainly do worse than these. Just go order yourself a few reams of printer paper to go along with them.

Needed a cheap, compact monitor to bring back and forth to college and not be too worried about. I was using my TV as a monitor prior to purchasing this, and its night and day compared to the TV (obviously). This monitor is extremely thin, and has a really slick, edge-less design. The colors of this monitor are amazing, better than anything Ive used before. I guess thats what you get with an IPS monitor. I am running a GTX 1070 so this monitor is a bit low-end in comparison to the card, but it is working great for application. The screen really is the most vivid and beautiful screen Ive ever used. Even the 60Hz refresh rate is amazing, because I am used to gaming on an xbone with cinematic 30-fps. I feel like for the price, there is no better option. Once I am out of college, I will upgrade to a 1440p IPS paired with a 144Hz TN monitor, but for a college student this is more than sufficient. Some minor things I dont like about the monitor: -The external power brick is annoying. I would rather have it built into the monitor and have the monitor be a bit thicker. -The stand isnt the greatest design. It is not convenient to remove either. -Buttons are hard to push. In combination with the less than great stand, pushing the power button causes the whole monitor to tip and usually it rotates or moves when I do this. Not the end of the world, but it is annoying to have to hold the monitor down when pushing the power button. But even with these few reservations, I think this monitor deserves a 5-star rating simply because of the performance and quality you get for the money. I paid around $120 for this monitor which feels like a great deal for what I got. The screen itself, like I said, is amazing, vivid and clear. 10/10 would buy again.

The on/off button (and others) are on the bottom edge of the monitor. I find I must hold on to the monitor with one hand in order for the other to use the buttons. Inconvenient.

Added to my laptop for work purposes at home and it rocks. Exactly as described. Nothing complicated about setup. Using Windows 11 if that means anything. And, the HDMI means that streaming Prime Video looks spectacular. If my laptop had a second HDMI port, I’d quickly buy another.

I purchased this monitor to replace an HP 23 bw monitor that has developed LCD panel issues like horizontal reddish lines on the right side of the screen and image burn-in. That monitor was a 1080p IPS LED backlit monitor just like this one, but is a 23 inch monitor instead of a 24 inch monitor like this one is. This monitor handles anything thats thrown at it very well. Doesnt matter if its a movie, an old TV program, games, photos, or graphics. Im very impressed with its picture quality. I tested the Overdrive settings on both Normal and Extreme and found out it only results in annoying colored motion blur artifacts called inverse ghosting on the edges of every object in a game for instance. I found that it is best to turn off Overdrive and that when it is off, motion blur is really only noticeable when you specifically look for it and it doesnt get any worse as you turn down the brightness setting, even down to zero. The one negative about this monitor is the on-screen menu. It isnt as user-friendly as on the other monitors I own, but I know it will become easier to use as I start to get used to how it works. I only had to do some fiddling with the presets to set it to the User presets and tweak the color controls slightly to get the best picture quality. I feel that a less than ideal on-screen menu isnt enough to take a star away. It is possibly the best deal for a monitor on the market right now given that this monitor is on sale for $130. You dont see many IPS displays that perform well in this price range. Id recommend this monitor to anyone who needs a 1080p monitor that performs well.
