> 24 hourIm giving this a five star review even though the product picture is completely wrong. I have used this product for a couple of years and new what I was buying. It is actually a three flute 1/4dia 60° router bit. Very sharp and lasts longer than any bit that I have ever used, and as a sign making business cutting red oak 8 hrs a day, we have used a lot of bits.

> 24 hourI was having a terrible time trying to do inlays in walnut/maple with my Whiteside 1502, all the male carves were being torn up. I ordered the 1542 and ran the same toolpaths and all I can say is WOW! I ran at 18K RPM and a feedrate of 80IPM and my inlays are perfect. This bit has 3 flutes, so I am guessing that is the difference. You will not regret adding this bit to your inventory if you do inlays.

> 24 hourThis bit is great. Used it for 2 plus months daily in my CNC for hours at a time on clear pine. Worked like new everyday. Lasted VERY long. Just bought a Spe Tool it lasted literally 2 days on the same materials. Whiteside is the best.

> 24 hourThis is my favorite vbit. The third flute really changes the quality of cut in mdf. Small details don’t sheer off and the bit is very quiet compared to the other V bits I tried. The photo with “your orders” and the review section is wrong. You get the more compact bit seen in the listing photos.

> 24 hourQuality bit! Sharp is an understatement. Be careful removing the cover from the bit or ull see just how sharp. Have run this bit for over 20 hrs now and still as sharp as it was from the package.

> 24 hourWhiteside bits are excellent and this one was no different. Let me explain how I used it. I was making a rather complex cutting board for my music teacher brothers birthday. The plan called for a layer of ebony veneer to be glued between each of the keys to simulate a thin shadow. I ordered and returned several ebony veneer orders because they just were not uniformly black. So I departed from the plan and decided to vein the surface of the black walnut and hard maple keys and then apply ebony stain into the veins with an old ink pen. The 60 degree angle on the bit allowed me to lay the stain about 1/32nd of an inch deep giving me crisp black lines just below the surface. I then covered the lines with epoxy resin and sanded the excess epoxy off of the surface. It worked perfectly. BTW, this board was made for show not cutting foodstuffs.

> 24 hourDont use the photo for this item to decide if this is the right bit... the photo is incorrect! I also found that photos on the manufacturers website were also misleading, but the descriptions are correct. The Whiteside #1541 is a solid carbide 60° V-groove bit that is 1/4 in diameter, has a 1/4 shank, and a 3-flute cutting point. I purchased this bit to use in router-carving wood signs, and it performs exceptionally well in this role. The tool is very sharp and has maintained its edge well through use. Great value for the money!
