> 3 dayI didnt believe the excellent reviews of this book. I mean, how could it suck kids in as people claim? Its a book...with cardboard flaps. Big deal. But boy was I wrong. All three of my kids (2, 4, 6) love playing with this book. They dont carry it around all the time, but whenever they stumble upon it in their trove of books, it entertains them all for quite a while. My oldest loves to read the questions, the 4 year old loves making up what he thinks the questions should be and the 2 year old loves pointing out the things she knows, whether it is simply lifting the flap and answering that question or identifying everything on each page.

> 3 dayYou can introduce this book as early as 9 months to your child. They may not get concept yet, but as you continue to read it they will. Because it clearly identifies each body part in a way they can learn the information. It also can start to teach them how to turn pages because it has thick pages which they can transfer that skill to regular books. It is also a great book I have used for students with special needs. Students with special needs are usually able to identify body parts or point to body parts after reviewing the book as many times as they need too. The book is very short so they can usually keep their focus for the shortbread book. Once again the book identifies body parts in a way they can understand even if they are non-verbal they often can respond by pointing to their body parts. And once again let them turn the pages when they are able to because it is considered a fine motor skill to turn pages. These pages are thick which helps to turn page.

> 3 dayMy 15 month old really likes this book- the only downsides are that the flaps aren’t super easy for a baby to lift themselves, and I was a little disappointed that ears and nose were left out (trying to teach her body parts), but that may just be me being picky.

> 3 dayThe way the flaps are set up, its hard to lift even as an adult. My 18mth old has a hard time finding where to lift and to get the tabs to lift. That is my biggest complaint. Otherwise its a great book for learning parts of the body. I read the book and point to the characters in the book, ie see the babies toes?! And then touch/wiggle his toes so he starts relating what we are talking about. Cute book, just wish it was easier to lift the tabs on. You better have nails! I might have to rig the book so its easier for him to lift, since he likes to lift them up himself.

Greater than one weekI bought countless books before my baby was born, including most of the classics, and from about 6 months on, tried to get him interested in any and all of them with no success. Eventually between 7-9 months, after reading the reviews here, I ordered this. And voila! He seemed to like it -- well, he would at least sit still on my lap long enough to turn the pages and lift the flaps! Three months later, it is definitely his favorite book -- he giggles when I pull it out, and loves to lift the flaps up and down, and up and down, and up and down. After three months of all that upping and downing the flaps ARE raggedy and curled up, but he doesnt seem to mind. I figure on buying it again when it really gets worn. I would definitely recommend this if you are trying to get a younger, active baby interested in books.
