> 3 dayAs many have stated its easy to program add the freq to memory . However it is very difficult to get the freq displayed to program it into memory. Without keybord direct entry you must get the scanner to land on or close to the freq you want to add . Yes the up down arrows with the scanner in hold will allow you to manualy enter the freq . However the up down steps do not allow for inbetween freq entry . Speaker is very tinny and a lot of white noise in background so if you like listening to static this is the one for you . This can be corrected with a good external speaker. I own 6 other scanners and this is not the quality I expected of Uniden . Also be aware the reviews listed for this scanner seem to be mixed up from other scanners. This review is for Uniden 800 MHz 300-Channel Base Mobile Scanner (BC355N)

> 3 dayIt comes pre-programmed with frequencies and the search and nearby functions make it easy to find local transmissions to follow. I looked up some frequencies on the FCC website and programmed them easily. Comes with home and car adapter and car mounting kit. Lacking a lot of advanced functions though. Speaker is weak.

> 3 dayI bought this for my local fire department and ems communications to listen to in my vehicle and when I get home. The sound quality is amazing and it is really easy to set up with the right support from YouTube videos!

Greater than one weekI use this scanner in my Jeep. It was easy enough to mount next to the CB. Antennas for fiberglass shells are hard to come by, so I got creative with a magnet mount, and a little hardware. Seems to receive signals satisfactory.

> 3 dayEasier to set up than other reviews lead you to believe. Pages 52-55 of manual - read it carefully and you will get hang of it quickly. One drawback I (reason for 4 stars) is it scans one panel at a time (police, for example) and after a set time moves into the next panel to scan instead of across all panels at the same time. You can remedy this by enabling the closest but then CB chatter can take over if you live near an interstate. Having replaced a 20 year old 10 channel BC scanner with this all I can say is Wow!

Greater than one weekBefore I purchased this unit I read many of the reviews. I suggest that anyone considering a purchase do the same and after the purchase take the advise of several of the more knowledgeable reviewers. Being a Uniden I expected quality and some frustration. I was not disappointed. This is a very nice scanner and a good value if (repeat, if) you are patient and understand the limitations of the radio and the manual. If you want a be-all-to-end-all scanner, then spend $400-$500. This $100 unit will not suit you. Based upon my limited use so far I have found that the sensitivity is good and adjacent channel rejection is good. The functions are clearly marked and the display is clear and easily read. The speaker is terrible (normal for smaller radios) and you should purchase an after market speaker. The included accessories (antennas, DC power options, etc.) are good. An external antenna (AntennaCraft ST-2 for instance) is a good idea. Given the price I would say: Appearance - 5 (Nice smaller unit) Features - 4 Sensitivity / Rejection - 4 (This is based upon limited use so far and is subject to later revision) Ease of Use - 3 (Needs better manual. Programming is a pain, but worth it.) Overall - 4

> 3 dayIt is a little difficult to set up and program the frequencies into the PRIVATE channel. It has 100 memories which is great and close call that will automatically receive a frequency that is within a few miles without knowing the frequency. A little difficult not having to punch in a frequency. You have to scan for the frequency you are looking for.
