> 3 dayPicks up everything AM that it says it will. You can punch in frequencies manually, but it takes time. No keypad. But it works for me !!!! I have a mobil setup, and a harvest D220R discone. UAYESOK heavy duty mag mount 30kg suction. Does not move at 80+ mph. The bearcat rocks for a simple scanner. Yes I pick up CB freqs with this rig very very well. WX rocks, police, fire, rescue, air, marine (vhf), what more could I ask for in a simple scanner. It rocks !!!

> 3 dayI use this scanner in my Jeep. It was easy enough to mount next to the CB. Antennas for fiberglass shells are hard to come by, so I got creative with a magnet mount, and a little hardware. Seems to receive signals satisfactory.

> 3 dayWorst part of this review is for the shipping. Received it quickly, however the packing was the worst! Scanner itself is in a box protected only by cardboard. That box was placed into a much larger box, along with three outlet surge protectors and almost no packing material. All four items were free to bash into each other every time the box was moved. Amazingly, everything survived! The scanner itself is about what one would expect from a low-price radio. It has very few bells & whistles, but it covers the bands/modes I needed. This replaced a scanner with many more features, however it receives MUCH better than the older one! It lacks a headphone jack and a Priority channel, and its small size and light weight make it a little harder for fat fingers to work the buttons without pushing it off the desk! That said, it was worth the few dollars it costs!

> 3 dayI wanted a scanner for a long time. I use to pull up radio reference and listen to the stream of my local police traffic but the quality was bad and unreliable. This scanner appealed to be because I wanted one like this style, not the portable radio looking ones, as well as the feature of being able to use it in the home and car. It took me a little while to figure out how to use it even with the instructions but after 10-20 minutes I had my local sheriffs dept. tuned in. I was so happy, the quality was 100x better than the internet stream, it sounded like they were right next to me compared to what the stream sounded like. I was impressed by the amount of accessories that were included with the scanner. Most companies would require you to purchase all the stuff that was included with this. There was a car antenna, a house antenna, AC adapter, DC adapter, and a hard wire kit for the car. I purchased a different antenna for the top of the car as well as a speaker. The only wish I have is that it went a little louder, when your in the car and driving at 60-75 MPH its hard to hear with the road noise. If you have it you can plus your AUX in for your car and have it come across your speakers but itll only come out of one side. I dont know anything about scanners but Im 100% happy with my purchase. Its something Ive wanted for a long time and it does exactly what I wanted. Dont be discouraged if you have trouble figuring it out at first. The instructions dont cover everything so you sort of have to teach yourself some things.

> 3 dayI purchased this scanner for my car. It came with everything you need car adapter, plug, etc the concern I have is on the back of the scanner it states 13.8 volts and is going to be plugged into a 12 volt adapter. Although most cars I know of are 12 volts but because my vehicle which is a Subaru is very sensitive I called customer service at Uniden to explain the 13.8 volts, One agent said he did not know then referred me to email in which I did with no response, I called again and the agent indicated wire it to the battery. What was strange to me is that both agents stated this scanner is not for a car even though the manual states you can use it in a vehicle with the plug in adapter or hard wire it. Bottom line, my questions where not answered completely and will have to hard wire it to the battery even though I did not want to do that.

Greater than one weekI had a Bearcat decades ago. Back then everything was unscrambled. The scanner had birdies. Frequencies that obviously mixed with local oscillators and stopped scanning a range. You HAD to lock out that frequency to continue scanning. This unit is new so I pick up oddball pulses on various bands. I wish to tell you all to buy a BNC male to SO239 female so the antenna can accept a PL259 male (AKA CB antenna) adapter. Living with electronic noise in house will drive you nuts. The display isnt big to say the least but for the money, you may hear an airplane of tones from Rescue 51 or 1-Adam 12. Now I have to go 10-7 and go QSX. aka Satellite*
