> 3 dayWhen I bought my i7-13700K, the CPU would randomly spike to 100 °C while idle and stay at that temperature for 4 to 5 minutes. I upgraded my CPU cooler to a corsair 420 mm CPU watercooler, but the same issue occurred, although it didnt stay as long at 100 °C. The problem disappeared when I switched to the Thermalright contact frame. I also noticed an improvement in the average temperature of the CPU at idle and under load. It is clear that this contact frame helps the CPU behave in a better way, especially for a CPU that is known to overheat.

> 3 dayI was skeptical, but after struggling with my OC 13700K temps despite custom loop I decided to give this a try. No change in ambient, test, or overclock with a 12 degree delta. 12 degrees for a ten minute installation is massive. Cinebench caps at 88 now when I was hitting 100 and throttling previously. 5.7ghz all core and happy.

> 3 dayCorrected a warp that caused uneven cooling. Works great to properly secure the processor and allow for proper mounting of a cooling solution. Made from aluminum not plastic. Remains straight under pressure.

Greater than one weekPurchased this for my first Intel build ever. I installed this after using the stock bracket and seeing some relatively high temps. A quick search of Reddit brought up many recommendations for this, so I picked one up. It’s reduced the max temp on my 13700k from around 90c to about 85c with my EK Nucleus 360mm AIO. Definitely worth the cost IMO, even came with free thermal paste. I didn’t use the paste, but it’s a nice touch for sure.

> 3 dayInstalled this on my Asus Maximus Z790 Hero with no problems. Used factory screws from motherboard and no issues. Make sure to tighten in criss cross pattern to make sure it tightens evenly and doesn’t bend. Highly recommend as this also lowered my CPU temps on my 13900k

Greater than one weekRather easy to install, I removed the motherboard from the case, and removed all my RAM. It might be doable without taking the motherboard out of the case but I didnt want to try it.

> 3 dayLook I realize Thermal Grizzly basically thought of these as a solution for the 1700 socket bend but they’re super expensive and hard to find in the States. And yes, there are even some builders that believe these contact frames are just a trend and are nothing more than a security blanket for a nonissue. And in same cases that’s absolutely true. Some CPUs IHS are perfectly fine with the socket bend I had 4 that were completely fine with or without the contact frame. But after 15 builds with extreme socket bend making for poor contact with heatsinks I can say this helps more often than not. This contact frame has lowered temps by upwards of 8C on my builds and yes I tested each one. So yes, in my professional opinion Intel created a problem, never addressed it and these are the best solution, especially for anything Core i7 and up. The fact that Thermal Right created these at such a reasonable price and are indeed just as effective as Thermal Grizzly’s (check Gamers Nexus) seems too good to be true, but as I’ve said I’ve used these on 15 builds and they’re worth every penny.
