When I bought my i7-13700K, the CPU would randomly spike to 100 °C while idle and stay at that temperature for 4 to 5 minutes. I upgraded my CPU cooler to a corsair 420 mm CPU watercooler, but the same issue occurred, although it didnt stay as long at 100 °C. The problem disappeared when I switched to the Thermalright contact frame. I also noticed an improvement in the average temperature of the CPU at idle and under load. It is clear that this contact frame helps the CPU behave in a better way, especially for a CPU that is known to overheat.

This does what its supposed to do!

Multiple cores of my i9-12900KS CPU always peaked at 100 degC during Cinebench R23 multi-core tests conducted at 21 degC ambient. I tried several thermal paste application methods/patterns, ...but following AIO pump assembly removal, the paste residue pattern was always evenly distributed with no evidence of CPU IHS cover bending/warping from the motherboards standard LGA1700 CPU mounting solution.

Dropped an average of 15C after I replaced the stock CPU bracket on my Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX. This fit very snug and secure on the 13th Gen i9 and I couldnt be happier!

Look I realize Thermal Grizzly basically thought of these as a solution for the 1700 socket bend but they’re super expensive and hard to find in the States. And yes, there are even some builders that believe these contact frames are just a trend and are nothing more than a security blanket for a nonissue. And in same cases that’s absolutely true. Some CPUs IHS are perfectly fine with the socket bend I had 4 that were completely fine with or without the contact frame. But after 15 builds with extreme socket bend making for poor contact with heatsinks I can say this helps more often than not. This contact frame has lowered temps by upwards of 8C on my builds and yes I tested each one. So yes, in my professional opinion Intel created a problem, never addressed it and these are the best solution, especially for anything Core i7 and up. The fact that Thermal Right created these at such a reasonable price and are indeed just as effective as Thermal Grizzly’s (check Gamers Nexus) seems too good to be true, but as I’ve said I’ve used these on 15 builds and they’re worth every penny.

13900k/Liquid Freezer II 360/Z790 Aorus Master - no improvement in temps unfortunately. Well built and easy to install however.

Hello all. This is really a great product and works very well. Ive overclocked my 13600k to 5.5GHZ all cores and I never go over 50c while gaming I would really recommend it for you

Before installing this contact frame on my i7 13700k, I was getting temps around mid 70’s while playing Escape From Tarkov and Insurgency Sandstorm. I have my cpu undervolted by .1 and overclocked by 100mhz (very mild imo). I’m about 5 hours into gaming after installing, and my MAX cpu package temp so far has been 68C, but average is 60C!!! That is a huge improvement from before. Very glad I spend the 12 bucks!
