Use it for my media at night since kids are sleeping. Can’t complain anything about quality, like you are in cinema, worth the money I can say

This Sennheiser HD 660 S isnt as clear and revealing as I expected. Also not super tight and clear on the bass, it sounds a bit woolly. I compared the brand new HD 660 S directly to the brand new HD 650 and the 650 is even more veiled (i.e. lack of highs) with perhaps a bit more emphasis on bass than the 660 S. With my tube phone preamp I I dialed in 50% more bass (+ halfway) and 100% more treble (+ all the way), to get to the sound I was used to with my previous headphones (Panasonic RP-HD605N-T), and I wish I had more treble on tap. The HD 660 S comes with sturdy and 10 long cables (6.5mm and 4.4mm, with a 6.5m-3.5mm adapter). I find the original cables too long and wieldy to use in a desktop situation, and I bought a 6.6/2M Youkamoo 3.5mm Replacement Upgrade Cable from Amazon which has a perfect length, weight and flexibility for desktop listening. (I cant really make any objective statements about the Youkamoos sound quality, but when compared directly to the original Sennheiser cable it is at least as good.) Perhaps I need to break these Sennheiser HD 660 s headphones in over time? Im hoping that the sound quality will improve over time, as I am totally not blown away at the moment.

They sound so quiet, clear, and detailed! Quality construction and comfort, the bass is a little light but is perfect on certain songs/recordings, i also really liked the Sony Pentacomm balanced cable it came with!

I just received this amazing headphone this morning and as suggested by another reviewer that I break these in as I usually do with all of my new headphones. Once I put these on and started playing some of my favorite music, at an abnormally high volume, I couldnt take em off. For about 5 hours straight I listened to some of my music, from rock and roll to classical and was just blown away. The bass wasnt as strong as I had hoped for, although, even at a high volume, the music didnt get distorted and the overall sound was very clean and clear. Now Im going to give this headphone a 24 hour rest so the next time I use them I will really hear their true potential and will most likely want to listen to my entire library of music again just to hear everything that I have been missing out from listening them through my other headphones which are pretty good but not as good as these Sennheisers. And one more thing, these headphones dont play very loud either. On my devices, I have to play my music on almost full volume if I want to crank up the sound, where as with my other headphones, even half way was too loud. So for anyone wanting to upgrade their headphone experience I highly recommend getting these and it just may be the last one that you purchase. Yes, its that good.

The presentation and box the headphones came in were amazing. The headphones themselves... im not so sure.

    Greater than one week

I’ve come a long way, starting out with the $11 phillips earbuds to $50 earbuds, $200 headphones (beats), $400 noise cancelling headphones (sony and bose). However after a while I started to notice that some headphones had better bass, others were more clear, others weren’t loud enough, others would allow me to listen to specific instruments more clearer than others, etc. At this point I wanted something that could combine all of these aspects so I got the sennheisers.

I work in voice-overs for videogames. I listen to hundreds of audio files, every day. To me, details and neutrality is important but also comfort.
