I didnt use the tech support so I cant speak to that but the device is small, about a stack of credit cards in size. Its fast and its easy to transport in a pocket. Perfect for what I wanted.

The storage is great, however, I get notifications from the software popping up every couple of hours even though there is nothing to install. I was able, after contacting Samsung tech support get the initial software update installed but they were not able to tell me how to stop the pop-ups which are annoying but not harmful.

Formatting this to use through the Time Machine app for my Mac was easy!! Select the drive and allow Time Machine to formate for backups. Done!

So far so good. Had one hiccup which Samsung support themselves couldnt help me resolve – If you happen to use the latest Mac OS and setup the password protect security feature on the Samsung app, things start to go a bit funny and the drive cant be detected afterwards. Alternative is to remove/not use the password protected feature provided by the Samsung app, and the drive will work fine.

Great little SSD, and very compact. Its not exactly plug-and-play (for PS4) but going into the PS4 settings and formatting it as an Extended Drive is super simple and fast. I was able to quickly load it up with games and immediately had noticeably reduced load times compared to the standard stock HDD. I got it on sale during Prime Day so I got a great deal but this is an ideal portable SSD for any purpose and worth the money. I also bought a little carrying case for it to take around with me.

Im using this drive to edit a feature film. What can I say? I can store the entire project on this 1tb drive. The drive is so compact, it easily fits into a small pouch in my backpack normally reserved for business cards. Rugged metal case means I dont have to worry about dropping it. Fast? So fast I can edit 1080P video directly from the drive. Ran benchmarks with my new Rosewill USB 3.1 PCIe controller (note separate review): Seq. Read -> 511 MB/s . Seq Write -> 508 MB/s. Expensive? Maybe. Given the time Ill save being able to work on the same project on my office workstation or laptop at home, money well spent I say.

I love the size and speed of this drive.
