SAMSUNG T5 Portable SSD 1TB - Up to 540MB/s - USB 3.1 External Solid State Drive, Black (MU-PA1T0B/AM)

I have purchased 5 of these drives in the 1 TB SSD drives. One each for my two children and three for myself. I film my sons sporting events and edit and post movies on YouTube. It takes quite a bit of storage space, hence the need for multiple drives. I have been happy with each purchase but this last drive, though the same model, seems to have a slower transfer rate. It is so much slower than the other drives I have used. I improved it slightly by using the USB cable from a previous drive I had purchased. If I make another purchase of an SSD I will look hard at a different brand.

Great for using with a gaming console

Not exactly what I expected. Was incredibly small! Granted I ordered this as soon as the sale hit and thought itd be a regular 2.5 form factor.

I use this external hard drive on my iMac in conjunction with Time Machine and it has been working flawlessly for weeks now! I think a SSD external hard drive is the way to go for this application since it has no moving parts and consumes very little, if any, power!

This is an amazing product from the inside out. Listed speeds reached and exceeded... That being said, this is ridiculously overpriced. I had immediate buyers remorse and returned it. I would pay $300-375 for this. My 6 year old WD 2TB external HDD that sells for $56 currently is slow, yes, but I dont mind afking for 10min or so.

Im really glad that I didnt buy a cheap hard drive. This hard drive is very fast when transferring files. I needed a hard drive for my YouTube videos, so they are big files, and my 500 gig solid state hard drive on my computer couldnt hold many at all. Transferring files to this hard drive through the USB 3.1 on my computer is as fast as the one built into my computer.

works like a charm

The T5s are used strictly for storage of fotos, movies, and articles I find important to my interests. Use mostly with MacBooks. An old revived 2012 MBP (with USBA to USB C cable,) and the brand new (for me ) MBP M1 16 (with the USBC toC) I would use a lot of caution with the iPads and Phones, as the required dongle seems fussy about powering down and unplugging. Lost some fotos once doing that. One last thing: Samsung offers optional password protected service. DO NOT FORGET THE PASSWORD!

Love this product. It was a Christmas gift and my son is absolutely in love with it. It is a small smooth almost weightless little cube and it packs a punch! Im going to buy one for myself.
