> 3 dayI have an older MacBook Pro and the t5 ssd was amazing, so thought Id upgrade. I was wrong with the upgrade. Since my laptops older its taking SO LONG for a simple 100GB file transfer from my t5 over to my T7. I will most likely return the SSD if I cant find a solution to make it work as efficiently as my T5. Disappointed with how slow it is. My memory cards write faster.

> 3 dayYou need to purchase an external backup for your system. If you do not, you will, like me, learn the hard way. After a software upgrade, I experienced a major catastrophic software event. I lost three years of data which had to be rebuilt manually. Lesson learned.

> 3 dayThis is my go-to drive to bridge media files between totally different types of devices. This is so useful because it can be used with so many different gadgets. Among those reported to work include: Windows, MacOS, Linux, ps4, ps5, iPhone and iPad (with lightning camera adapter), Android, Samsung phones, iMac, Macbook, Amazon Fire tablet, Xbox, USB ports on smart TVs, aux storage on cable boxes, old computers that have USB 2.0, and others. In fact its hard to find something that this external drive doesnt work with.

> 3 dayReading is as advertised. Used as win10 boot drive for 2020 27iMac. Cannot use the included Samsung security software in this configuration. Drive has had several hickups between rebooting, chkdsk was needed to repair on a recovery USB stick. I am not sure why. I did setup OSX not to mount the T7 drive on booting into Catalina to prevent any possibility of corruption (OSX can read but not write to the T7 anyway). I also noticed a message saying drive was not ejected correctly after shutting down and restarting WIN10 on occasion, which may be an issue between the T7 and Windows 10 and the iMac bootcamp drivers. So beware of this.

> 3 dayThe Samsung T7 2 TB is fast and small. Over the years, I have accumulated a number of WD Ultra My Passport hard-drives. They work fine. But I do not believe they are SS drives. They use a USB type A connection. I read that USB C connecting SSD drives download 3 - 6 times faster than USB A connecting non-SSD hard drives. When I have backed-up selected files from my Microsoft Surface Book 3 laptop (> 400 GB), it usually took about 4 hours using my USB A connected WD drive. The Samsung T7 has a solid state drive and connects via USB type C to type C cable (with both USB A and USB C cables shipped with the drive). I was dubious of whether I would notice that much difference. But took a little over an hour to backup a little over 400 GB. So my experience is consistent with what I read. Finally, you may also read that the Samsung T7 is smallish. Believe it. Not that it was all that important to me. But the Samsung T7 is really small (3 x 2 inches). Overall, you will need to decide if a backup drive that costs twice as much is worth 3 - 4 times less waiting. For me, it was well worth it. I hate waiting . . . especially at work.

> 3 dayThe drive works as advertised--no issues there. But If youre buying this expecting to get the Adobe CC promotional offer, dont bother. Im giving this 1 star because of Samsungs total lack of support in redeeming the promotional credit for 2 months of Adobe Creative Cloud. Per the instructions on Samsungs website I registered the device but never received an email with directions on how to redeem the offer. I spent 45 minutes on 2 chat sessions and 3 (disconnected) phone calls to 4 different support groups and still no resolution. Not cool.
