> 3 dayTwo likes: 1. The delivery is as promised but the packaging could be better in content protection. 2. The SSD loading of OS is many times faster than the old spin disk it replaced in my 4yo HP AIO.

Greater than one weekIf youre here to buy this SSD you likely already know what you want (and what youre doing). Took me all of 5 minutes to get this installed in my gaming rig. Samsung makes great products and this SSD is no exception. Installation was easy and formatting was smooth. Now my system has an extra TB of silky smooth SSD goodness.

> 3 dayI had problems with a new build that I eventually traced to the XPG GAMMIX S70 I was using. It caused BSODs from a WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR. Switching to this Samsung 980 for my boot drive solved all my problems. The speed may be a bit slower (comparing 4th to 3rg gen NVME), but I now believe that reliability is much more important than just saving a few bucks. Youll pay it in the end with wasted time troubleshooting if you buy a cheaper piece of crap.

> 3 dayThe install of the SSD (500GB) was pretty easy in my Dell inspiron 15. The recognition of the SSD was spot on but the cloning gave me problems the first time then after hours of reading it installed easily with the Samsung Magician software. My boot up time went from about 3 min to 13 seconds and it still isnt getting the top speed of 2500 or 3500 (not sure). Im getting 1750. Very nice product!!!

> 3 dayOne of the best SSDs that you can buy, only usurped by the 980 pro. Cant go wrong with it.

> 3 dayBecause Samsung chose not to include any onboard DRAM for this drive it would normally have issues being used as a cache drive with lots of small files being called and placed - BUT - Samsung has managed to utilize system RAM to offset this and it does it really well. To be clear you want to have a lot of RAM for this to be worth the speed/cost. This isnt an issue with my editing machine since Im running 64GB of RAM in the system. This amount of system RAM coupled with whatever magic Samsung did makes this a great cache drive for my editing and effects rendering. I wouldnt use this as an OS drive or put it in a machine with not a lot of system RAM. I think in either one of those situations youre going to want to spend a bit more money and get one of the options with the DRAM on the drive itself and get the speed youre after. But at this price point with lots of system RAM and being dedicated to a cache drive.. this is a great option to consider in certain use-case scenarios.
