Greater than one weekThis is perfect if you want more storage, but you also don’t want to pay $300+ for it. Very easy to I stall. Nothing to really complain about. I’m sure it’s not perfect but for the price, it’s a five star product.

> 3 dayI recently left a review for another nvme drive, the sk hynix p41. I said in it that that drive drained my battery in my new laptop alittle too fast for my liking. I took that drive out and switched it to this samsung 980 pro. I had mentioned in the p41 review that i thought the p41 was faster than this one. When i tranaferred a 16 gb file when i hooked this one up it transferred it at about 1.5 gb/s while the p41 did it at 2.0 gb/s. Thats nothing to shake a finger at, for either drive especially since both are faster than the 900mb/s my original wd drive moved at. That being said a recent firmware seemed to help this samsung drive because after it i transferred the same file and found it moving at about 1.9gb/s so now this one is almost there although it did seem alittle less stable moving up and down between 2.0 and 1.6 a few times before settling at about 1.9 while the p41 went at 2.0 and didnt look back. That being said, this deive moves that fast, whether its 1.9gb/s or 1.5 gb/s, and still sips slowly from the battery. While the p41 gave me 4 hrs at idle(2 hours less than the stock drive), this one got me up to about 6.5 to 7 hrs at idle and about 4 hours of use time. Believe me i know the battery life is still terrible so id rather not burn through it any faster than i already do. On top of that this drive also stays cooler than the p41. While the p41 sat at 41 to 46 degrees c at idle, this one sits at 31 to 35 degrees c.

Greater than one weekThis is a great product. It offers huge performance maps over staccato sata ssds. One caveat: make sure you download the Samsung magician software to monitor your drives and keep them up-to-date. There was a firmware issue that was corrupting earlier 980 pro 2tb m.2 drives and placing them into a read-only mode. The Samsung magician will help you make sure you have the latest firmware, which has resolved that issue.

> 3 dayI bought this unit brand new through Amazon in late July and the unit is completely dead and undetectable on my system. At first I thought that the primary PCI 4.0 M.2 NVME slot on my motherboard was failing so I put it in the secondary PCI 3.0 slot but when that also did not work I put it into another brand new computer I had assembled for a friend and still the drive was not detected in the BIOS Boot Manager. To be clear, the drive worked perfectly fine before this and was lightly used as a gaming PC. I only had a few programs and games downloaded on the drive. I couldn’t imagine more than 10TBW was put on the drive. For posterity, the manufacture date for this Unit is May of 2022 and was made in Vietnam.

> 3 dayThis replaced a standard hdd. WOW. Boot time went from 45 seconds to under 15 seconds on my ASUS ROG laptop. Programs load fast too. I also added ram but this was the real speed up. If your computer can use this type of m.2 SSD, go for it.

> 3 dayIt is testing up to 3,300 MBytes per second, read and write. (Note: bytes not bits.) This is on a twelve year-old I7 gaming computer, kind of low to mid range these days. Total happiness.
