When looking for a new system drive for our deep learning machine, I had to go with Samsung and their EVO line. I was able to clone our old system drive to this and boot the first time. This thing is crazy fast, if you have an NVME slot on your motherboard, ditch the sata drives and go with this. Read/Write speeds are almost 6 times as fast as a sata SSD, which is insane consindering how fast sata SSDs are compared to the old HDDs with rotating platters. Dont think, just buy it.

My Intel NUC Skull Canyon has benefited from a rather substantial upgrade from one 500GB M.2 SSD drive to two 2TB M.2 SSD drives, I couldnt be happier. The speed of the drives have surpassed what I expected compared to the previous Intel M.2 SSD but the Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 SSDs were much more expensive and three years younger.

My XPS 13 originally came with a Samsung PM951 M.2 SSD, which wasnt bad, but was only 256gb. Soon after purchase I upgraded it to a Samsung 960 Pro of 512gb. Ironically that drive wasnt so much incredibly faster than the OEM drive, which is probably because being on the smaller size of the line, there was less parallelism amongst the nand. I upgraded to this 970 Evo Plus 2tb and it is a rocketship. Very noticeable improvement. I havent run benchmarks, because others have done that, but the feel of daily driving is improved.

Got it off Amazon warehouse used. Ran CrystalDiskInfo 8 and Samsung magician. Drive was 100% with no on or run hours on it. Copied a clean cloned image from a 970 EVO 1TB to the 970 EVO Plus 2TB, ran Ubuntu with no issue. Great purchase.

Amazing speed, My system is fully booted and I can login with PIN within 15 seconds and start chrome. Its insane how fast this thing is, benchmarks at 3600 MB Seq. Read/Write. I have my most played games on here like Rise of the Tomb Raider and the load times are amazing, no more than 5 seconds usually tops, which is crazy.
