SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB NVMe M.2 Internal Solid State Hard Drive, V-NAND Technology, Storage and Memory Expansion for Gaming, Graphics w/ Heat Control, Max Speed, MZ-V7S1T0B/AM

I have been buying 960 and 970 EVOs ( 6 now) over the last year and they all work great! This last one is for a RAID 5 cache for my NAS (Network Attached Storage) unit. Therefore I highly recommend them as they are crazy fast, easy to install and so far very reliable. My only recommendation is to make sure you go to the Samsung site and download their Samsung Magician software which will let you benchmark each drive and tell you if it is healthy or not. It will also tell you if the drivers and firmware are out of date. I cannot stress it enough MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE you install the latest Samsung Drivers and Firmware ( these are 2 distinct items) in order to ensure maximum performance and compatibility. For example, with the May 2019 Windows update, the NVMe drivers went back to the Microsoft version and this impacted the NVMe controller on my PC. Using Magician told me my drivers changed! Hence it is good to check every 3 months to make sure you are still running Samsung Drivers. Also the firmware is important to maximize performance.

To start out, this drive is blisteringly fast. Top scores in just about every metric, if pure speed is your goal, this is the drive to get. This is my 6th Samsung SSD, following a 830, 840 Pro and EVOs, 860 EVO, and finally this 970 EVO Plus. Unfortunately, this particular 1TB 970 Evo Plus died about 3 months after purchase. Drive was no longer recognized in BIOS after functioning well from date of purchase.

This SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB - M.2 NVMe Interface Internal Solid State Drive is awesomeness personified as it is easy to install and I got it on sale. Im new to computer PC gaming but that did not stop me from grabbing up STEAM versions of all my favorite game titles from my PS3, PS4 and XBox days. Before I knew it my one TB drive was screaming uncle, it had no more space. My copy of Saints Row the third just would not fit on my 1 TB SSD drive and I had to have it. Well I needed 2 TBs of space but I did not want to mortgage the house to buy it.

This is a perfect upgrade for modular laptops, or PCs. This is very easy to install and have incredible boot times For Windows OS compared to OEM SSDs.

I have used Samsung drives for a long time and have never had any problems. I put this into a new ThinkPad P1 Gen 2. It is noticeably a lot faster than the 2.5 Samsung 860 SATA SSD that I had previously. On paper it is supposed to be 7x faster than SATA. In real life the whole computing experience feels about 1.5x faster. Large file transfers are measurably 4x-5x faster.

This thing is awesome. Its so fast and is easily my favorite part about my new pc build. Such a big difference between even regular ssd and definitely the old spinning hard drives. It is expensive though but it might be worth it.

So far, so good. Works as expected. Keep in mind that these dont actually have 2 tb on them.
