My computer came with a small SSD containing the OS. Some software have to be put on the C: drive, so the installed drive filled up. I replaced my old one with this Samsung. The drive is excellent, had all the space I wanted, but the (downloaded) Samsung software was very difficult for me to use. It didnt want to work on my 4 year old Dell and wouldnt migrate the OS and make the new drive bootable. I finally had to use non-Samsung software to resize the partition and migrate the Windows 10 operating system to the new drive and make that one bootable. Once that was done, it works fine. You will need a USB 3 to SATA cable, ordered separately, to make the switch. Instead of the Samsung software, I used a free program called Disk Genius from Diskgenius.com to make the switch. PLEASE read up on how to do this before you try it! Also, O&O has a free program that will make the switch as well, tho its a bit more complicated than Disk Genius. Other than the Samsung software, this is a fine drive.

I have not installed my new 2 TB drive yet, but have no doubt all will be well. What I wanted to mention was I received this days earlier than expected, so I can be up running before the weekend. MUCH APPRECIATED!

Easy to install

The Samsung SSD is simple to install and works well. But the Samsung Data Migration app...which is one reason I bought the Samsung SSD, for easy transfer of data off my old drive to the new one.....works very, very poorly. You need to do a lot of research on the Internet to figure out why the data migration failed. I had the data migration fail at least 8 times before I could figure out what needed to be done on my PC so the transfer complete. The Samsung app only said failed no reason no hint as to why. So, if you are buying this SSD because its supposed to make data migration easy...do not. Buy a less expensive WD or other drive.

Best product for gamers

Made a computer that was lacking in speed to operate a dj program now useable for that purpose. Original hdd was holding it back and so is the ram but cant add to the 4gb it has. This was an amazing speed boost. Boot time is like 10 seconds. Shows that product was new like claimed based on the packaging and the drive diagnostic after install. Cant say anything on longevity yet.

Works great

I ran out of space on my operating system drive so I was afraid I was doomed to re-setup my whole system. With Samsung, you not only get the hard drive but access to Samsungs downloadable programs that make an upgrade successful. I cloned my existing drive to a 2TB Samsung and was up and running in a few hours.
