> 3 dayThe drive stopped working suddenly and wouldnt even allow my computer to boot, even though I had another drive running the OS. After disconnecting this Samsung drive I was able to boot again. Bought a SATA to USB cable to try and salvage files, but I am unable to use any recovery procedures as everything (including reformatting) fails. Sucks, all I can say is if you buy this drive, check up on it and back up everything on an external drive.

> 3 dayI purchased this in November 2011 and it is now June 2022 and the device has failed. I noticed first my computer was locked up so power cycled it. It would no longer boot, and was no longer recognized even by the bios. It took several hours and many attempts before it came up enough to be accessed by ddrescue to pull an image off it to see if I could recover my data. Interestingly, I had a PNY drive before this and while it lasted longer it also seemed to fail prematurely in comparison to the old spinning platters of rust they replaced - some of these drives are still going strong after 10 years of near continuous use!

> 3 dayIve purchased 4 Samsung SSD devices over the course of a few years; 970 EVO 500GB, 870 EVO 500GB, 860 EVO 1TB, and an older 850 500GB. They are all still going strong with no data corruption issues on my gaming PC, even with a couple of system reformattings occurring in that time. I initially went with Samsung for their substantial lead in write performance at the time. Other brands may have made gains in this regard, but why switch out performance (more importantly durability) for some cost savings?

> 3 dayIt was easy to install and has breathed new life into a 2012 MacBook Pro. Make sure that you buy an adaptor or external case for the drive if the plan is to clone the old HD onto the new one. I am very happy.

Greater than one weekSamsung software was a dream to migrate, have changed hard drives before and this time was the easiest yet. Old cables lined right up. Booted perfectly. No longer filling up my C drive!
