Its designed to hold your laptop and it does that very well. But the purpose of buying this is really all about the look. It matches the silver of my MacBook Air and the back has a hole to thread wires through in order to have a clean look on your desk.

For 6 months I used them at work and wanted one for home. Got one for Christmas. Love at first mount.
