Originally purchased for a trip to Boundary Waters. I packed it SUPER full and the zippers were up for the challenge. The top carry handle is great for not dumping out your water or other items when handling the bag. It also stands up because of the semi-rigid back. Speaking of which, the back panel is supremely comfortable. Ive worn it in front and back, walking and mountain biking. The nailed the fit. Just the right amount of padding while not getting too hot. Some complain about the water bottle holders, but I love that they snap and fold away when not being used. I sometimes carry only one water bottle so this is really handy. Shorter water bottles (think standard bike bottles) work best. I have fit a taller 27.5 oz. bottle, but it doesnt feel secure when riding. Also 32oz. Hydroflasks = no go. There are a number of straps to keep everything tight and I used these to attach multi-tools, bug nets, sanitizer etc. My one complaint is that the small top zipper compartment, looks to be for a phone or sunglasses, fills the main zippered compartment. Ive noticed that only flat objects can fit in that pocket if the main compartment is full. Overall, this is the best non-bladder Osprey fanny pack. Save $30 and buy your own water bottles, you wont be disappointed.

Helps when bringing extra water in summer, holds necessary repair parts, side pockets good for bars and my point and shoot. Drink pockets secure down when not in use. Lumbar support is great and it cinches down easily to stop waist pack bounce on descents

Ive tried slightly larger sizes of lumbar packs, but you end up putting too much gear in and they dont stay in place. This lumber pack is perfect for a small first aid kit and some snacks for a day hike.

Was bent in half in package, was not able yo uncrease it, zipper was hard to zip closed, very stiff. Not one of their better products. I still think Osprey has the best products though.

I use this one on MTB rides. I do jumps and drops. This pack feels secured. I use it with two 21oz bottles. I keep my phone in there, as well as multitool, CO2 cartridge and nozzle, and few other things. Still have plenty of room left. I just dont want to overload it and feel it pull me down. But at this time I have everything I wanted to have with me on a ride, and it feels great. I can almost forget Im wearing it. replacing bottle into the holder takes some getting used to. They are just tight. But that means they are secure. Its a great hip pack!

This pack is damn near perfect. I fit a plus tire tube, two levers, co2, multitool, multiple snacks/gels and my iPhone in here with room to spare, oh yeah and two bottles. I LOVE this pack so much more than the Camelback MULE I wore for years. If I had the slightest complaint about the pack, it would be that the bottles can be tricky to get back in sometimes. But seriously that’s nitpicking. For the price you can’t beat this thing and I wouldn’t want one any bigger. Size is perfect.

I have a cheap fanny pack and I loved it. It lasted about 3 years and finally ripped apart. So, I decided to buy this one (it was on sale) and I was excited to use it when I got it. Well when I tried it I already have some difficulty grabbing the bottle but I give it a shot. While riding a bike, I had to stop and unhook it so I can actually grab the bottle. Its so annoying and frustrating to do that every time I drink some water. Some people might have success on this one but I dont. Returned it and bought the cheap one that works for me

At this asking price, it better be a great waist pack, but in my opinion, it is. You can store a surprising amount of stuff in this waist pack. The strap is wide and can fit just about anyone, with enough support that I barely feel it even if Im using it when jogging or on a day hike. I mainly include some dense food, a couple of bottles of water in the holsters included, spare socks, a basic multitool and first aid pouch, and the ever present cell-phone (turned off!). I could store a few maps, some geocache stuff, and a rolled up light jacket too if I wanted. This pack looks beautiful in red, with the typical light but strong material Osprey usually uses. Construction and design quality are also clear in the airscape and vented pads around where the bottles go, and also in the very easy to use zippers. I tend to rotate this out of place until I need it, and I even switch left to right every now and then, and in all positions, sweat doesnt really stay around that long. Its better if you primarily carry this on your lumbar, but I mix it up. A few tips: if youre packing lots of stuff on your hips, you want to minimize weight. Its OK to put a couple things in your cargo pockets, and the rest in this pack. Larger, light things like jackets are no problem on a hip. Too much water will be felt on those hips, but just two bottles is no problem. Also, make the unit snug and stable with a firm pull of the straps. If its not moving around, you are feeling less weight. Weight changing direction a lot, relative to the body, is actually more weight.
