I ordered this product along with dental cheek things as well as teeth whitening trays. Initially I put the whitener in a teeth whitening tray and put in on my teeth as instructed. BIG MISTAKE. The whitener started bubbling and burning right away. Bad. I removed the whitener within 30 seconds. And had white burns on my gums. They went away thankfully. The next time I used the cheek thing to hold my cheeks and lips away from my teeth like my photo and painted it carefully onto each tooth with a small makeup brush. I leave it on for 30 minutes and sometimes use a blue led light to help speed up the process. It works really well, and I’ve had people asking where I’m getting my teeth whitened. The process is tedious- but for the amount of money you save for professional level whitening I’d say it’s worth it. Just be careful. DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR GUMS! I purchased AZDENT cheek retainers and use the ARC LED light that came when their whitening strips I used to use.

My 4-pack arrived as two 2-packs sold as a set. Dont know if shipping caused the package seals to detach, but the syringes were intact and the expiration date is 2023, so I wasnt concerned about the product being compromised. Ive used Opalescence in the past, but it requires you to get custom trays made by your dentist. The 15% strength takes several hours, whereas the 35% takes 30-60 minutes (preferred). This method is more effective than Crest strips, which Ive used as well and like, but they only get the front teeth and mostly just the front sides. I started whitening my teeth today and already notice a difference. I didnt have any sensitivity, so Ill do another round tomorrow and possibly a third day to use up the first syringe. Will save the others for touch ups. These wont whiten crowns and bridges, so you can skip those teeth when squirting the gel into your trays--thatll extend how many uses youll get out of each syringe.

You need to have a tray or a retainer to use the gel. Use only a minute amount because it will irritate your gum if you use too much. It does make your teeth sensitive, so I am only using it once/week. My teeth was pretty white to start with but this gel help rid of surface stains. I use one syringe for 3 whitening sessions, so it’s not a bad deal. Highly recommended.

I have used several whitening products over the years, and this is the best one I have found! I love the fact that you dont have to leave it in very long (or overnight) AND it doesnt cause the gum sensitivity that Ive experienced with other products. I typically use it once every 3 - 4 weeks (unless I want a quick refresh for a special event). Im drink 1 - 2 cups of coffee daily, and I also enjoy red wine, and this product keeps my teeth looking great. The consistency is thick, which means it stays in my whitening trays and doesnt ooze out around the edges. (I rated easy to use as a 4 because you need to take a bit of care putting the product in your trays because it is thicker than many whiteners, but its worth it.) I have custom-fit whitening trays (that I got from my dentist years ago for another whitening product), and they work perfectly with this product. I keep this products around at all times -- Im a big fan!

I first got custom whitening trays about fourteen years ago - right after I had my braces removed. I have used just about every gel from several dentists. All of the gels have been far less than 35% and of course took a lot longer per treatment (usually overnight) and many more treatments than this product at 35%. And the gels cost SEVERAL times more from a dentist. One can achieve the same results as this 35% product, but it will take much longer, and will cost much more. There is a balance between the percentage of carbamide peroxide and gum irritation, however - and it varies from person to person (the irritation, that is). But here is what I have found. If I floss my teeth once a day and brush them two to three times a day and use a fluoride rinse Act at night, I can use the Opalescence 35% for one hour per treatment in custom trays. Even after one hour, I can see clear results. If my teeth are still too dim I can use it every day until I get the results I want. I know (sort of) if I have over done it because my dentist will tell me my teeth are too white and off his colour chart. I never tell him this, but I think his teeth are dim and stained. (Sorry if that is mean.) My tips: Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Floss once a day and use Act fluoride rinse at night and use THIS gel. This gel is the best I have tried. It works quickly. Short treatment, few treatments. If you cannot tolerate an hour; use the recommended half hour. I dont have sensitivity, but if you do, switch to Sensodine sensitive teeth toothpaste and use the Opalescence less frequently, for a shorter time or both. Also, stop doing those shots of straight Bourbon, because that compounds the irritation to your gums. I vacillate about how often to touch up my teeth - so I asked another Amazon reviewer. I used this with custom teeth trays. I can confirm this works great. But don’t use too much. You will have to learn to use the correct amount. If you use too much in a tray it will touch your gums and burn. It’s very very painful lol. I temporarily turned my lower gums white.

So I was a little worried about buying this due to some of the reviews. This was a product my dentist gave me a two years ago when I 1st whitened my teeth. I was very happy with the results and took home a kit. Now I’m a stay at home mom and would only use the stuff to brighten my teeth for special occasions and just to maintain white teeth so the kit I was given lasted 6 months. When I went back and purchased a refill they gave me another product that I hated and did not work the same. So I stopped buying it. And my teeth even with other whitening products just never were as white as with this original product. So I was so delighted to have found it on amazon. I used it once for an hour and my teeth are so much whiter and brighter like two years ago! I never leave the trays in longer than an hour and per dentist orders two years ago when I 1st received this product a little goes a long way. And that is so true you only need a little in your trays for the magic to work. I’m so happy with my purchase. I also bought the tooth paste to help between whitening. I love the tooth paste as well! Now as far as sensitivity I will touch on that because even the dentist two years ago said a lot of people have trouble with the sensitivity in their teeth with this product. I personally didn’t have this problem. But I also use it in moderation. Over all I’m happy I found this and will be buying again in the future. My teeth are happy and bright again and I can enjoy my morning coffee and not worry about the stains it might leave on my teeth!

DO NOT FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS ON THIS PAGE. Ive used Opalescence gel a lot over the years and never had a problem because my dentist told me to use 1/4 tube per tray or less. The instructions on this page say to use 1/3 to 1/2 tube per tray so I did, thinking the formula changed or something. I scraped the excess gel away but it was still way too much. After 30 minutes the bleach had worked well on my teeth but had burned the hell out of my gums and even turned them white for a short time. Use only a little until you figure out what amount works best for you.
