Moen 1200 One-Handle Kitchen and Bathroom Faucet Cartridge Replacement, Brass

Contacted David Powers Limited questioning the quality of the Moed 1200 replacement cartridge. Sara from David Powers Limited responded, All items are purchased in bulk directly from the manufacturer, without retail blister packaging. This is the reason for the tremendously low price and free shipping. I am not sure if the quality of bulk product is different from packaged product, so I cannot speak to that, unfortunately. However, the price of $17.97 is not low. You can purchase a genuine Moen 1200 all brass cartridge on eBay for $14.97 with free shipping. I attempted to install this replacement cartridge and found it had two issues. It was slightly longer so the retainer clip used to retain the cartridge would not fit without forcing it through the slots. In addition, the orifices of the valve are small and only allow a reduced flow of water as compared to the OEM valve. Caution ! ! ! ! Go with the genuine Moen 1200 valve. Its a perfect fit and youll get it at a cheaper price. If it doesnt have Moen stamped on the brass part of the cartridge then its not a Moen cartridge.

Worked great in my shower. Install was pretty easy. You will need silicone grease to do the job.

I bought this part in 2011 and had it sitting around for quite a while before changing the cartridge in a shower yesterday. I didnt notice that is replacement for the Moen part. The O-rings on the outside of the part looked loose, but what do I know. I installed the new part and the shower leaked. When I tried to pull the cartridge to look it over, the stem pulled out of the body. I got the body out and saw that one of the O-rings had split in half. So I had a part that didnt work and came apart. The genuine part I bought from the store for a couple of bucks more worked perfectly. Not a well made part.

Be careful in ordering this model. If your faucet was manufactured after the mid 90s this will eventually leak. It is intended for older models. For a modern single handle faucet order the 1225 version for your replacement. Amazon does not make this clear In their description but Moen does on their website.

Remove old one with plastic didn’t work

I received a genuine Moen cartridge (Moen etched into the metal) and it works perfectly. Tried two other knock-offs first and they both leaked.

Feb 2019...buy this,its OEM and brass ...nothing else to say

Had a hard time removing the 20 year old cartridges. Hunks of rubber remained in the neck even after flushing it out. Had a hard time until I took it back apart and looked down the neck with a flashlight and found more chunks of rubber. Fished them out and it work as intended. Whatever you do make sure the neck is spotless.

Was sent an after market copy. Real Moen have the name engraved. Sent it back

Works great and fits just as described.
