The light is good not a really powerful magnification though.

I am visually impaired and I need to use magnifying glasses all the time. I like and use the the light feature. Good solid purchase for the price.

What really makes this magnifier great is the light. Really helps read small print without having to hold what you are reading under a lamp. Uses 2 AA batteries that seem to last a long time (at least for me). Very happy with this purchase. I bought extras as gifts for friends birthdays & they all love them.

Its big and heavy - at least for me. It doesnt magnify as much as I would have thought for the size. Just not as useful as I had hoped.

It is as advertised but they did not supply 2 AA batteries , but for the price I guess it is OK.

I purchased the magnifying glass to be able to see faces/dates on old family photos. It has proven to be very useful.

I bought this for my husband who has significant reading problems. He is an avid reader and I dearly hope that this magnifying glass will help. I found it be easy to hold. It certainly did magnify print for me. I made an error in thinking that this did not need batteries. It does and it will have these batteries soon. Once the batteries are bought and inserted, I can speak to the 4 star ratings. It can be used without the batteries, but you wont get the lights. Update: When I tried to insert the batteries, the entire piece slid off. I noticed that one coil was as it should be while the other coil was bent. I left it without the batteries inserted for the present.
